It was indeed a great honor to represent Ogun State and Nigeria alongside the Chairmen of Imeko-Afon and Ipokia, our Kabiesi's, youth leaders with other state delegates and chairmen from other states sharing boundary with Republic of Benin to discuss boundary matters.

I was later nominated to represent Nigeria on behalf of all other Chairmen, to preside over plenary sessions and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Republic of Benin for the benefit of our beloved country.

YNLG ASSURES INVESTORS OF PEACE, TRANQUILITY ENVIRONMENT FOR BUSINESS TO THRIVE

The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Dr Olusola Akinbode has assured management of Dangote Cement Plant and other intending investors in the Council area of peaceful co-existence and safe environment for their businesses to thrive as this is in tandem with the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun's ISEYA mantra in the state.

Dr Akinbode who stated this during a meeting with the management of Dangote Cement Plant in Ibese, Yewa North Ogun State encouraged them to continue their good neighborly gestures, acknowledging their significant tax contributions and social investments in local communities.

The Chairman appreciated disement giant for fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities by contributing to the development of the old communities, which had power outages due to a faulty high tension line in their distribution network. He urged the community to continue supporting and cooperating with the company.

Earlier, the Plant's Group Head of Social Performance, Mr Wakeel Olayiwola, said, “In the spirit of good neighbourliness, Dangote Cement Plc, Ibese had purchased multi-million-naira worth of electrical items to be delivered to host communities around its operation in Ibese, to enable them reconnect to the national grid and have their power restored”

Olayiwola listed items purchased by the Ibese Plant, which include 1,200 meters of Aluminium Conductor Steel-Reinforced (ACSR) cable, 20 High Tension (HT) Poles, 40 pieces of Pot insulator, and 10 pairs of the straps.

He reiterated the company's commitment to the sustainable development of its host communities and continued collaboration on initiatives geared towards the general wellness of the people.

Present at the meeting were the Plant Director, Mr Roy Uttam, the Head of Social Performance, Mr Ademola Ojolowo and other members of the management team.

YNLG SWEARS IN SUPERVISORY COUNCILLORS OTHERS, TO DELIVER ON SET VISION

In order to further strengthen the Administration of inclusivity across the council area, the Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Dr. Olusola Akinbode has sworn-in and assigned portfolio to Hon Segun Oladodu as Supervisory Councilor for Information, Alhaji Hon. Fatai Adekunbi as Supervisory Councilor for Education and Social Welfare.

The Chairman, after the swearing in at the Odebiyi Legislative Chamber, Ayetoro, charged the new appointees to discharge their duties without fear or favour.

Other appointees were Hon. Azees Orisasami as Supervisory Councilor for Works, Hon. Olusegun Mathew, Supervisory Councilor for Agriculture and Hon Oluwasogo Edun as Supervisory Councilor for Health, while Special Adviser on Special Duties and Security, Hon Rasaki Ogungbe and Hon Ijidele Olabisi were also inaugurated.

He re-affirmed the need for good governance and progressive leadership, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them and perform their duties by ensuring that the glory of the council was restored.

Speaking in an interview shortly after the ceremony, the Secretary to the council, Alh Lukumon Akinyemi, noted that with the atmosphere created by Governor Dapo Abiodun, the local government administration was bound to deliver dividends of democracy effectively across the Council area.

One of the newly appointed Supervisory Councillor, Hon. Fatai Adekunbi, pledged to join hands with the Council's administration towards achieving its set objectives.

YNLG CHAIRMAN, DR AKINBODE PAYS UNSCHEDULED VISIT TO PROJECT SITE

In an effort to sustain Ogun standard project delivery across Yewa North Local Government area, in line with Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun's ISEYA mantra, Chairman Dr Olusola Akinbode made an unscheduled visit to the ongoing construction of a block of three classrooms at Ansarudeen Pry School, Imasai, Yewa North, Ogun State.

The Chairman commended the quality of work done so far, just 15 days into the project, which has already reached roofing stage. He urged stakeholders to take ownership of the project to ensure its smooth completion.

In the same vein, Honourable Councillor, Hon Yusuf Falana, representing the Ward, appreciated the Chairman for his pragmatic approach to governance, as seen in the construction of the edifice in the school, and promised collaborative effort with the executive arm to deliver more democratic dividends across the council area.

Lending his voice, the project engineer, Engr Thomas Adeyanju assured delivering high-quality work, since the present administration has established standards for project ex*****on at all levels.

YNLG CONSTRUCTS MATERNITY CENTRE AT IGBEME, OHUNBE WARD TO EASE RESIDENTS SUFFERING

The construction of Maternity Centre at Igbeme in Ohunbe Ward will finally alleviate the suffering of the residents, particularly pregnant women who have to travel long distances outside the community to access affordable healthcare service for their well-being.

The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Dr Olusola Akinbode disclosed this while speaking with newsmen after the foundation laying ceremony in Igbeme.

The Chairman assured other communities in the council area that similar health centre designs would be replicated across the local government where necessary. He called on residents to support and cooperate with the construction process to ensure its smooth completion.

He said that, This initiative, would cut across the length and breadth of our local government area to promote affordable service delivery as this aligns with His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun's ISEYA mantra in providing affordable health care service.

In their separate remarks, the Councillor representing Ohunbe Ward, Hon Emmanuel Opeisa, the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon Oluwasogo Edun and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Women Leader, Mrs Folashade Ogunola, all commended the efforts of the present administration led by the Governor, for constructing maternity centre across the state saying that the initiative will have direct impact on the wellness of the people especially by ending the suffering of those who had to travel long distances to access healthcare services.

Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju Awoso's Empowerment Program: A Resounding Success.

Sunday 9th March 2025 is a day that will never be forgotten in the lives of residents and indigenes of Isokan State Constituency as Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju Awoso implemented an Empowerment Programme for the good people of his constituency.

The event, which was a monumental success, was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Chief Sogo Agemo, Sen. Kola Bajomo, Hon. ( Chief) Bayo Bisiriyu Popoola, Hon. Lukman Akinyemi ( Sec Yewa North LG) Alhaji Lamina, Chief Jossy Friday , Alhaji Isiaka Durojaye , Hon.(Mrs) Bukola Omoyayi Hon. Sunday Kojeku, Chief Mrs. Abass( Iya loja General) , Hon Kayode Abiola, Hon. Bayo Adeyemi amongst several political leaders and party faithfuls.

Hon. Awoso seized the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to his constituents for their unwavering support and trust in his leadership, while noting that the day's empowerment programme was just a tip of the iceberg in his line-up of programmes for his constituency.

Some of the essential items distributed at the event were;

- Agricultural equipment: Grind pepper machines, sowing machines, fertilizers, rain boots, and cutlasses to support farmers.
- Cash prizes: 40,000 Naira for 150 market women to support their businesses.
- Healthcare support: Free health insurance cards for 200 people worth 12,000 Naira each.

In his address, Hon. Awoso said the Empowerment programme would not have been made possible without the support and goodwill of Governor Dapo Abiodun, whom he described as the Captain of the ship. Hon. Awoso commended the Governor for recently approving the completion of the Imasayi to Igan Okoto Ayetoro Road, amongst several other roads in Ogun State in his usual commitment to infrastructural development.

It is with profound sadness that the Aboro-In-Council announces the death of our beloved elder statesman, consummate teacher and sagacious community leader,Hon.James Oludele Bamkole who departed this life in the early hours of today.

He will be deeply missed for his wisdom, leadership and contributions to our Nation , Ogun State, Iboro/Joga Ward and Yewa North.

LG BOSS, DR AKINBODE UNDERSCORES IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY EDUCATION

In a significant efforts to enhance educational programmes in Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun State, the Chairman, Dr Olusola Akinbode has laid another foundation of a block of three classrooms at Yewa North Local Government Primary School (YNLG) Annex, Saala Ayetoro.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dr Akinbode, said that conducive learning environment for learners is sacrosanct as it is embodied in the vision of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun's ISEYA mantra, which aims to improve the education standard and social economic development across the state.

Dr Akinbode stated that his administration's commitment and steadfastness to upholding the highest standards of quality education would continue to create an enabling environment where both educators and students could thrive.

In his remarks, the Olu of Saala, Ayetoro, Oba Afolabi Olaleye appreciated the Chairman's achievements within a short period in office, saying the dividends of democracy have come to their doorstep through the incumbent Chairman.

YNLG CHAIRMAN, DR AKINBODE PRESENTS N10.480BN APPROPRIATION BILL TO LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Dr Olusola Akinbode has presented a total of N10,480,671,345.00 to the legislative council as the proposed Budget for 2025.

Speaking at the Odebiyi Legislative Chamber, Ayetoro, the Chairman, said the Budget tagged "BUDGET OF SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION" would make up of N5.101 billion as recurrent and N5.379 billion as capital expenditure.

Giving highlights of the Appropriation, the Chairman said the sum of N572.949m would go for Personnel Cost, N4,341bn for CRFC while N187,130m would be spent on Overhead cost.

Akinbode listed some of the capital projects for the year 2025 as Electrification, Grading, Construction and Rehabilitation of roads, National Immunisation Programmes, Provision of Writing Materials for our pupils in the Primary Schools and many others.

On the funding of the 2025 Budget, the Chairman said an estimated N462,900m would come from the council Internally Generated Revenue(IGR), N760m from Allocation from State Government Account while N9.257bn would come from Statutory Allocation from Federation Account.

Analysing a sectoral run down of the budget, Akinbode said Agriculture would gulp N366m representing 9.56%, Works and Housing N1.352bn representing 25.13%, Primary Healthcare N285,350m representing 4.3% while the sum of N48,000m representing 3.1% would go for Education.

LG boss said, "we will continue to give staffers' welfare priority and treasure the lives of the residents as the dividend of democracy has been widened to include the empowerment of people and the adequate provision of Infrastructural facilities.

The Chairman lauded the efforts of career officers for their support and cooperation, also appreciating the legislative arms for their steadfastness, promising to strive hard to improve the living standard of the citizenry.

YNLG Commits To Quality Education: Classroom Project Kicks Off In Imasayi

In a bid to provide a conducive learning environment for learners in the council, the Yewa North Local Government Chairman, Dr Olusola Akinbode has laid the foundation for three blocks of classroom at Ansarudeen Primary School in Imasayi.

Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony on Thursday, the Chairman, Dr Olusola Akinbode stated that promoting quality education for students in the state is one of the vision of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON noting that this event demonstrates the governor's commitment on education and also fulfills our administration's campaign promise.

Dr Akinbode explained that the project aligns with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ISEYA mantra, which aims to improve the education standard and economic development.

In his remarks, the Olu of Imasayi, HRH Oba Lukmon Kuoye Ph.D lauded the Governor's drive on education while appreciating the Council for bringing this development to his town.

About 500 participants have benefited from the just concluded Adire Dapo Free Training Programme, organized for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the Iju zone council area of the local government.

The three-day training which was facilitated by the current Yewa North Local Government administration, led by Dr Olusola Akinbode, for Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) of Iju zone was held at First Baptist Church, Iju Atan Igbogila.

At the training, the participants were divided into different sections to ensure smooth learning and effective engagement with instructors.

The beneficiaries expressed immense joy and gratitude, commending His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun's ISEYA Mantra which birthed the Adire Dapo Free Training Programme launched last year. They also appreciated the Yewa North Local Government Chairman for extending the training to their zone.
