These achievements (published here 👉https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/wrapping-up-2024-reflecting-year-impact-yali-network-rivers-o17zf/) would not have been possible without the dedication of the YALI Network Rivers State Hub members, our exceptional partners, and our generous supporters.

To my Hub Executive Team, Winnie Ngaji, Henry Ume, Sebh Markson, Jackson Bonya, Famous Igbanibo and Stella Njoku, thank you for your resilience and commitment. Flashback: Partnering with Saint Amen Foundation to Combat Drug Abuse

On 23rd November 2024, as part of our new member onboarding community service, we proudly partnered with Saint Amen Foundation under the able leadership of Amen Rachael to carry out an impactful anti-drug abuse campaign in Borokiri, Port Harcourt.

The event, tagged the "Borokiri Drug-Free Initiative," was held at St. Amen International Schools and featured a series of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

Highlights of the Day:

• Awareness Walk: A community-wide walk to spread the message of saying “NO” to drugs.

• Talk Sessions: Informative discussions on the risks of drug use and the importance of addiction prevention.

• Free Health Services: Attendees benefited from free HIV and Hepatitis testing, vitals checkups, consultations, and counseling.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Saint Amen Foundation and their sponsors for organizing such an impactful initiative. Together, we’re fostering healthier communities and empowering individuals to live drug-free lives.

Let’s continue to say “Be Smart, Don’t Start!”

Throwback to World Earth Day 2024: Our Land, Our Future

On , the YALI Rivers State Hub joined hands to protect our planet through the impactful project tagged “ , ” at the Mile 4 Market, Rumueme, Port Harcourt in partnership with Renew Watts Technologies.

Here are some of our proud milestones:

• Waste Collection: With the materials provided by NESREA and Renew Watts Technologies, we filled three large waste bin liners while employing a waste segregation system to separate plastics, food/biodegradable waste, and other trash.

• Community Sensitization: Over 50 market women, men, and youths were educated on critical topics like waste management, recycling, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and turning waste into wealth.

• Trash Can Donation: 6 gallons trash can were donated to the market's first official and over 70 sanitary trashcan liners to the market traders.

• Clean-Up Supplies: Volunteers used materials like gloves, rakes, and masks, with extra supplies donated to the market for ongoing use.

• Plastic Recycling Initiative: We worked with the Market Head to set up a designated collection spot for recyclable plastics.

Together, let’s keep investing in our planet. Our trash is our responsibility! 🌍
