*IKENGE FESTIVAL: A CALL FOR PEACE AND UNITY*

As preparations intensify for the Ikenge Festival across Obiaruku and other communities within Ukwuani LGA, the President/Founder of the Millinnium Environmental Organization of Nigeria (MEON) Ukwuani, Prince AMB. John Alex O. Obayendon, has urged youths to uphold peace, unity, and responsible celebration. He emphasized that culture is a symbol of strength, but true strength is shown through discipline, harmony, and mutual respect.

The Ikenge Festival celebrates heritage, identity, and communal pride, shining brightest where peace reigns. Let this season reflect:
- *Brotherhood over rivalry*
- *Celebration over conflict*
- *Unity over division*

MEON Ukwuani Area Command remains committed to fostering peaceful coexistence and youth development. We commend the Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. C.S. Ajede Possible, and other leaders for organizing the Ukwuani and Obiaruku Ikenge Festival carnivals, promoting culture, peace, and unity.

_FLOOD WARNING: DELTA STATE AT RISK_

*Flood Alert Details*
*Affected Areas*
1. *Warri South Local Government Area*: Riverine communities along the Atlantic coast.
2. *Warri North Local Government Area*: Communities along the Warri River and its tributaries.
3. *Burutu Local Government Area*: Riverine communities along the Forcados River and its tributaries.
4. *Patani Local Government Area*: Communities along the Patani River and its tributaries.

*Timing and Regions*
The flooding is expected to occur between *May and November 2025*, affecting various regions of the state, including the coastal, riverine, and upland areas.

*Causes of Flooding*
Climate change, rapid population growth, and inadequate infrastructure.

*Consequences of Flooding*
Severe consequences, including displacement, agricultural losses, and outbreaks of waterborne diseases.

*Preparation and Response*
The MEON Delta State Command is working with local authorities, emergency responders, and other stakeholders to prepare for potential flooding and mitigate its impact on communities. This includes:

1. Public awareness campaigns to educate residents on flood risks and safety measures.
2. Collaborating with local government authorities to identify and evacuate vulnerable communities.
