Expanding Market Access: Esomchi Foods Tours AWIP Warehouse in Nairobi

While in Nairobi for the TAAT III Programme Launch, Esomchi Foods took the opportunity to visit the AWIP (African Women in Processing) warehouse, a facility that will receive, pack, and distribute food products from AWIP members to retailers, distributors, and customers across Kenya.

This is part of our ongoing journey to export Esomchi food products across African markets. The visit offered a firsthand look at how this hub will expand market access for Made-in-Nigeria products, and it reinforced the kind of infrastructure and partnerships needed to move quality products, like our Esomchi Mix Pap Powder rooted into new regional markets.

From the TAAT III Launch to the AWIP warehouse floor, this trip underscored a shared vision: connecting Nigerian producers, and especially women in processing, to bigger markets across Africa.

We're proud to be part of this growing network taking Made-in-Nigeria products to the world โ€” one partnership, one warehouse, one market at a time.

โฌ…๏ธ Flashback: A TAAT Success Story from Nigeria

As we celebrate the launch of Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) III in Nairobi, we're looking back at a proud milestone in our journey, one of the key success stories to emerge from Nigeria under the TAAT-OFSP Compact.

In 2021, Esomchi Foods trained 18 value-addition specialists across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones, equipping them to produce nutritious Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) products and strengthen local value chains.

Our impact was recognized and featured in a TAAT-OFSP documentary, showcasing how private-sector-led innovation in Nigeria is driving nutrition, livelihoods, and agricultural transformation at scale.

As TAAT III begins a new chapter, we're proud to be part of the successes and remain committed to scaling innovations that improve lives across Africa.

Esomchi Foods Joins Continental Leaders at TAAT III Launch in Nairobi Kenya

Esomchi Foods was proud to participate in the strategic launch of Phase III of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) Programme in Nairobi, Kenya on 29th - 30th June, 2026

We had the opportunity to share our work in democratising nutritious foods, connecting market actors across the Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) value chain and creating sustainable pathways for nutritious foods to reach families and communities.

During the event, we also showcased our innovative food products developed from OFSP, including our newly rebranded Esomchi Mix Pap Powder which received tremendous admiration and interest from participants and stakeholders.

As TAAT III enters a new chapter focused on sustainability, private sector engagement, digital agriculture, climate resilience, and scaling proven technologies, we are inspired by the collective vision of reaching millions more African farmers with climate-smart solutions.

We commend the African Development Bank Group, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), CGIAR Centres, International Potato Centre (CIP), RTDI partners, Regional Member Countries, and all stakeholders for their continued leadership in transforming African agriculture.

At Esomchi Foods, we believe that nourishing Africa begins with empowering farmers, promoting local innovation, and creating healthy, affordable products for families and communities across the continent.

Together, we will continue to scale impact and feed Africa.

๐ŸŽ‰ One of 8 SMEs. One historic opportunity.

Esomchi Foods was honoured to join seven other Nigerian SMEs selected to participate in the inaugural flag-off of the Nigeriaโ€“East and Southern Africa Air Cargo Corridor, a transformative export initiative championed by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment in partnership with RwandAir.

And we did not just participate, we proudly showcased Esomchi Mix Pap Powder to a continental audience and joined other selected SMEs in exporting Nigerian products to new African markets.

A major highlight of the event was receiving our Certificate of Origin from the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, reaffirming our readiness to take proudly Nigerian products beyond our borders. It was also a privilege to meet the Minister and witness firsthand her commitment to expanding opportunities for Nigerian businesses and driving export-led growth across the continent.

We are especially proud that Esomchi Mix Pap Powder was included in the export cargo destined for South Africa, marking another important step in our mission to deliver nutritious, high-quality food products to families across Africa.

For Esomchi Foods, this corridor represents far more than improved logistics. It is a gateway to new opportunities in Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, South Africa, and beyond. It means more families across Africa will gain access to the nourishment, quality, and innovation that define the Esomchi brand.

As we continue our journey from Nigeria to the rest of Africa, we remain committed to building a food business that delivers both impact and excellence.

Our sincere appreciation to the Honourable Minister, Festus Keyamo, the Nigeria Customs Service, RwandAir, and all partners whose collaboration made this milestone possible.

From Nigeria to Africa, Esomchi is on the move. ๐ŸŒ

What if This Bowl of Pap Reached Millions of Homes? Tackling Malnutrition with Local Food Solutions

Following our recent market activation, we are pleased to share Esomchi Mix Pap prepared at home, a simple, familiar household meal enhanced with nutrient-rich local ingredients.

Esomchi Mix Pap is formulated with Vitamin A maize, orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP), soybean, tigernut, groundnut, and dates, ingredients widely available within our food systems and thoughtfully combined to improve dietary quality without losing cultural familiarity.

It is a reminder that everyday meals can be powerful vehicles for nutrition when intentionally designed.

Nutritional value in every serving includes:
๐Ÿ“Œ Vitamin A maize & Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato: supporting immunity, vision, and healthy child development
๐Ÿ“Œ Soybean & groundnut: strengthening protein intake for growth and repair
๐Ÿ“Œ Tigernut: supporting gut health through dietary fibre
๐Ÿ“Œ Dates: providing natural energy and key micronutrients

In contexts where malnutrition remains a persistent challenge, particularly in parts of Northern Nigeria, the question becomes: what if this kind of nutrient-dense, locally acceptable food reached millions of homes consistently?

Achieving that scale will require more than product innovation. It will require collaboration across public health actors, development partners, and food system stakeholders committed to improving maternal and child nutrition outcomes.

We remain open to working with partners who share this vision of strengthening dietary diversity and translating locally available foods into practical nutrition impact at scale.
