Organized by: Caring-aid Immaculate Heart of Mary Philanthropic Initiative
Sponsored by: Sisters Rising Worldwide

INTRODUCTION
The Caring-aid Immaculate Heart of Mary Philanthropic Initiative successfully conducted a Youth Training and Empowerment Program focused on tablet soap making, liquid soap making, and detergent soap making. This initiative aimed to equip young individuals with practical skills that can foster self-reliance, enhance entrepreneurship, and improve economic opportunities within Onitsha and its environs.

The training was financially sponsored by an NGO ‘Sisters Rising Worldwide’, who provided support for both the training materials and the empowerment fund and also funds to upgrade our Stella Maris Soap Industry with modern equipment and infrastructure. The grant for this noble project was written by our dear Sr. Maria Chinweze Enujiofor, she was also part of the team that anchored the training and empowerment program.

- To provide hands-on training on tablet soap making, liquid soap making, and detergent production for unemployed youths in Onitsha Anambra State and its environment.

- To empower youths financially to start small-scale businesses in soap production.

- To encourage entrepreneurship and self-sustainability among young people.

- To reduce unemployment by creating opportunities for income generation.

Thirteen Sisters were added to the number of Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ on the 17th of August, 2024.
Most Rev Valerian Maduka Okeke, the Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese presided over the Eucharistic celebration in which the Sisters consecrated themselves to God.
The Archbishop told the Sisters that the Consecrated life is a divine life and therefore attractive. It is attractive because it is the life that Christ lives to show his good relationship with the father. “It is a divine life full of splendor and divine rays”, he told them. Archbishop Okeke encouraged the Sisters to maintain the beauty and the glory that comes from within when one is consecrated to God by living the three vows they would take.
Mother Maureen Akabogu, the Superior General of the Religious Institute with two other Sisters as witnesses received their three Vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience in the name of the Church.
The newly Professed Sisters were delighted to give themselves to God for his glory and the service of the Church and humanity.
