For many of the beneficiaries at the Widow Aid Health Insurance intervention, it was a deeply emotional moment. Tears of gratitude filled the venue as widows expressed heartfelt appreciation for receiving a gift that goes beyond charity, the gift of health and hope to live.

On June 23, 2026, Widow Aid Foundation proudly commemorated International Widows Day with one of its most impactful interventions yet, by enrolling over 100 widows into the Imo State Health Insurance Agency (IMSHIA) scheme, guaranteeing them access to quality healthcare without the burden of medical expenses.

The programme was officially flagged off by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Mrs. Nkechinyere Ugwu, whose presence reaffirmed the shared commitment to protecting and empowering widows across Imo State.

At Widow Aid Foundation, we believe that every widow deserves to live with dignity, access quality healthcare, and know that society has not forgotten her.
