GREEN REVOLUTION:

As part of my objective to revive and build a green and sustainable economy in Niger state, Gov. Bago i marked the World Environment Day by planting indigenous economic trees in the state Liason Office, Abuja and at the same time launched the campaign to plant millions of trees across Niger state.

This campaign is geared towards accomplishing the global sustainable development goals and climate targets of the African Union Agenda 2063, of One Billion Trees for Africa and the Great Green Wall.

This was done while receiving the President of One Billion Trees for Africa and Ambassador of African Union Great Green Wall, Dr. Tabi Haman Joda and a team of green development experts.

To register the state’s commitment, the Governor set up a Committee chaired by Prof. M. T. Usman. on Green Economy to help develop and implement a sustainable green economic blue print to propel Niger into leveraging it's full potentials as Nigeria's largest state blessed with diverse natural resources which can be catalyzed into massive opportunities for youth employment, green economic growth and sustainable development.
