The just-concluded Minna Medical Outreach, in partnership with Mainstream Foundation, delivered vital healthcare services to the community. The outreach provided free breast and cervical screening, eye screenings, distributed reading glasses to those in need, and carried out cataract surgeries for selected cases.

In total, 1,730 individuals accessed free eye care, with sight restored for many, while 456 women were screened for breast and cervical cancer, with 34 cases identified for further care.

All patients will receive follow-up treatment and support, reinforcing our commitment to building the healthy society we all desire.

Behind these numbers are lives changed, families relieved, and hope restored.

Early detection remains one of the strongest chances for better health outcomes

Last year, a woman walked into a free outreach like this—just to “check a small lump” she had been feeling.

She almost didn’t come.

It wasn’t painful. It didn’t seem serious.
But she showed up anyway.
That simple decision changed everything.
The lump was detected early.
She got the care she needed on time.
Today, she is alive and well.
That’s the power of early detection.

Over the weekend, we featured on Badeggi FM Minna for an engaging phone-in discussion on obstetric fistula, focusing on prevention, treatment, and dispelling common myths surrounding the condition. The program provided an interactive platform for listeners to ask questions and gain accurate information.

During the session, we emphasized the importance of attending antenatal care (ANC) and opting for facility-based deliveries as key preventive measures. We also addressed misconceptions that often prevent women from seeking timely care.

Importantly, the discussion highlighted the availability of free treatment services at Dr. Amina Bello Women Health Center, Kontagora, encouraging affected women and their families to seek help and support.

The program served as a vital step in raising awareness, promoting health-seeking behavior, and restoring hope to women living with obstetric fistula.

We have successfully concluded our Organizational Assessment Workshop, a two-day reflective and forward-looking process designed to strengthen how we work and deepen our impact at RAiSE Foundation.
Day One gave us the chance to pause and learn from our journey — revisiting our previous assessment and engaging in insightful exercises such as the Mirror and Timeline sessions.
Day Two built on these reflections, helping us translate insights into clearer priorities and shared commitments for the future.
With facilitation from Dr. Funmilayo Oyefusi FCIPM, FIMC, Fpmc, .funmi, and her team from the workshop created a safe space for honest dialogue, shared learning, and collective ownership of our growth.
As we move forward, we are energized and aligned — committed to strengthening our culture, systems, and performance so we can better serve the women, families, and communities who rely on our work.

She deserves to live with dignity. Not in silence. Not in shame.

Obstetric fistula — a heartbreaking condition caused by prolonged, obstructed labour without timely medical help — leaves thousands of Nigerian women leaking urine or faeces uncontrollably.

It steals their confidence, isolates them from family and community, and often leads to abandonment and depression.

Yet fistula is 100% preventable with access to skilled maternal care… and 100% treatable with free, life-changing surgery.

At RAiSE Foundation, we are turning pain into power:
Providing free fistula repair surgeries at the Dr. Amina Bello Women Health Center in Kontagora
Offering post-surgery care, rehabilitation, and empowerment programs.
Helping women heal physically, emotionally, and socially so they can return home dry, confident, and embraced once again 💛
We've already given dozens of women hope, and we are doing more with support from

In partnership with Mainstream Foundation, we held a free breast and cervical cancer screening outreach at the Dr. Amina Bello Women Health Centre in Kontagora.
In two days, our team screened 194 women and identified 17 women with issues that need prompt medical follow-up.
For those 17 women, this means they can now access treatment at a stage where outcomes are much better.
We're thankful to for the strong collaboration and commitment — it's partnerships like this that allow us to reach more women effectively.
Early detection continues to be the most effective tool we have against breast and cervical cancer.

Self-breast examination (SBE) is a simple but important way for women to take charge of their health.

By regularly checking your breasts, you become familiar with what is normal for you and can notice any changes early—such as lumps, skin changes, or unusual pain.

Self-breast examination does not replace clinical screening, but it helps with early detection and encourages timely medical attention. When done regularly, it empowers women to be proactive about breast health and seek care early when something feels wrong.

Early detection saves lives. 🎗️
