THE MINNA BOOK CLUB MONTHLY BOOK REVIEW SESSION
The Minna Book Club successfully held its monthly book review session yesterday in an atmosphere filled with intellectual engagement, literary enthusiasm, and vibrant participation. The event recorded an impressive attendance of about twenty-three participants, all of whom contributed meaningfully to the discussions and analyses that characterised the session.
The review centred on the book Yar Fari by Aisha Abdulkareem, with Mall. Abdulrahman M. Abu-Yaman serving as the lead reviewer . The reviewer provided detailed insights into the themes, language, characterisation, societal reflections, and literary relevance of the text. Their presentations stimulated deep reflections and thought-provoking conversations among participants.
One of the remarkable features of the session was the active participation of members and guests, who raised critical questions, offered constructive criticisms, shared diverse perspectives, and contributed insightful observations concerning the text. The discussions reflected the growing intellectual culture and literary consciousness being nurtured by the Minna Book Club. Participants examined various dimensions of the book, including its portrayal of societal realities, emotional depth, narrative techniques, and underlying messages.
The session was generally described by attendees as powerful, enlightening, and impactful, as it created a platform for meaningful literary interaction and exchange of ideas. The atmosphere of openness and intellectual freedom further encouraged participants to freely express their interpretations and viewpoints concerning the text under review.
Special recognition is also extended to the rapporteurs of the session, Malama. Sumaiya Kashim and Malama. Fatima Salihu, whose efforts in documenting the proceedings contributed greatly to the success and preservation of the event’s records.
At the conclusion of the review session, members unanimously appreciated the quality of discussions and reaffirmed their commitment towards sustaining the reading culture and literary activities of the club.
Furthermore, the club officially announced the next book for review as Makwala by Professor Emman Egya Sule on the 27th of June, by 3:30pm. The upcoming review session will be handled by Mall. Lawal Muazu as the reviewer, while the rapporteurs for the session will be Mall. Aliyu Umar Muhammad and Malama. Balkisu Kure.
The Minna Book Club continues to strengthen its vision of promoting literary culture, intellectual dialogue, and community engagement through books and meaningful conversations.
