🕊️ SAD AND SHOCKING NEWS 🕊️

We woke up this morning to the heartbreaking news of the sudden death of a 300-level Computer Science student of our alma mater called Kelvin Danlami, IBB University Lapai, who has also been confirmed as an Old Boy of Government Science College Izom, Class of 2020.

At the moment, different reports are circulating on social media regarding the circumstances surrounding his death. Some unverified claims suggest financial pressure linked to betting-related issues of him losing money, placing bets with some students' house rent fees worth N600,000 while other reports allege that he was murdered. However, no official or verified statement has been released, and investigations are still ongoing.

In light of this, we strongly urge everyone to avoid speculation, rumors, and the spread of unconfirmed information. This is a painful moment for his family, friends, classmates, and the entire GSC Izom and IBBUL communities.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this very difficult time. May Allah grant his family the strength to bear this great loss. 🤲🏽

We also use this moment to remind ourselves of the importance of checking on one another, speaking up when overwhelmed, and seeking help when life feels heavy, and avoid gambling. No burden is worth carrying alone.

We will continue to await official updates from the appropriate authorities and will share only verified information when available.

In 1997, a group of young students walked through the gates of Government Science College, Izom — full of dreams, curiosity, and hope for the future. None of them truly knew where life would take them, but one thing was certain: a bond was formed.

Fast forward 29 years later, and that story lives on.

This reunion of the Izoba Class of 1997 is more than a gathering — it is a celebration of time, growth, resilience, and brotherhood.
