As 2025 comes to a close, Zaman Lafiya Initiative expresses heartfelt gratitude to our incredible team, Board of Trustees, partners, and funders for their unwavering support!

This year, we made significant strides in promoting women's empowerment, refugee protection, and community development. Highlights include:

- Celebrating International Women's Day with a menstrual cup distribution campaign, promoting women's hygiene and dignity, in collaboration with GBV sub-sector, Girl Child 365, and CouldYouCup.
- Advocating for refugee rights through tree planting and football activities on World Refugee Day.
- Contributing to Yobe State's 2025 HNRP development.
- Empowering women and survivors through Smart Home Gardening training, enhancing economic stability and mental well-being, supported by Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation and Grassroots Researchers Association.

We're grateful for the partnerships that made these achievements possible, particularly with:

Breaking Barriers through Home Gardening

We're thrilled to share the success of our recent 3-day SMART HOME GARDENING TRAINING for 30 CRSV survivors in Yobe State! In partnership with Grassroots Researchers Association and with funding from Mukwege Foundation Dr. Denis Mukwege our Zaman Lafiya Initiative is empowering communities through sustainable agriculture. Advancing Health, Rights, and Empowerment: Zaman Lafiya Initiative's International Women's Day Initiative

Zaman Lafiya Initiative for Gender Transformation, Education, and Community Development, in collaboration with GBV Sub-Sector and Ministry of Women Affairs Yobe, and with support from and , empowered 100 females (50 women, 50 girls) through a comprehensive training on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights. To further support their well-being, each participant received menstrual and health kits, as well as menstrual cups, promoting dignity, health, and environmental sustainability. "As we celebrate 64 years of independence, Zaman Lafiya Initiative for Gender Transformation, Education, and Community Development reflects on our nation's journey and the resilience of the Nigerian people.

Today, we honor the sacrifices of our founding fathers and mothers who fought tirelessly for our freedom. We also acknowledge the progress made and the challenges still to overcome.

As we move forward, we urge all Nigerians to reaffirm their commitment to the values of unity, peace, and humanity. Let us strive to be better humans, supporting one another and uplifting our communities.

Let us prioritize:

Education for all, regardless of gender or socio-economic background.

School is almost starting and I want to ask you a favor… Sit with your child for 5 minutes and explain that there’s never a reason to make fun of someone for their height, their weight, their skin tone, their home life or the things they enjoy.Explain there’s nothing wrong with wearing the same shoes every day.Explain to them that a used backpack carries the same dreams as a new one.Teach them not to exclude anyone for "being different"Explain to them that teasing hurts and that school is for going to LEARN, NOT to compete or spread negativity.Remind them some kids don’t go home to loving families so it’s important to be kind. It all starts at home!
