Yelwata Rises: Clean Water Defies Terror ๐ง
On January 29, 2026, Yelwata community in Guma LGA, Benue Stateโstill reeling from brutal terrorist herder attacksโreceived a lifeline. The Centre for Development & Social Justice handed over a hand-pumped borehole, funded by Rev Fr Simeon Community Service Funds, Michigan, USA, delivering clean water to a people long denied basic dignity.
The simple yet powerful ceremony saw community members, survivors, and Centre representatives unite. When the pump first flowed, joy eruptedโ a quiet but defiant victory over violence, restoring health, time, and hope to families rebuilding from trauma.
This borehole is more than infrastructure; itโs proof that compassion from afar can heal local wounds. Grateful to Rev Fr Simione Funds, the Centre reaffirms its mission: in the shadow of terror, justice and solidarity endure.
