In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28), BenueAID partnered with the HerVOICE Benue Project of DevTrain Nigeria, alongside Aidwell Development Foundation, Dooshai Youth Foundation, Cheerful Hands Initiative, The Future and Her Foundation, and DevOptions Ltd to reach adolescent girls with vital knowledge and reassurance.

Together, we carried out a 1-day sensitization on menstrual health at UBE Secondary School Gaadi—from powerful lectures to hands-on practical demonstrations and mid-hand-holding sessions that reminded every girl: you are not alone.

Because no girl should miss school, lose her confidence, or suffer in silence simply because she is menstruating.

We say a big thank you to the management of UBE Secondary School Gaadi for opening their doors, Partners and every Volunteer who showed up for Benue’s girls.

Together, we can have a friendly period-world.

Today marks a special milestone—BenueAID is 2 years strong! šŸŽ‚

Two years ago, we set out with a simple but powerful mission: to enhance the quality of life of Benue people by supporting initiatives that improve access to opportunities. From the fertile banks of the Benue River to the resilient communities rebuilding after every challenge, you have carried us.

In just 24 months, we have achieved this TOGETHER:
āœ… Over 500 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) reached with food, medical aid (deworming), Henstrual Hygiene Management, etc., through the Humanitarian Response intervention
āœ… 57 DevTrain Volunteers Academy (DVA) Fellowship Programme through the BenueAID Discretionary Grant 2025.
āœ… 2 community health outreaches providing free Sickle Cell Disease screenings.
āœ… Supported CleanUp Campaign and won the UNICEF–World CleanUp Day 2025 Gamification Challenge Award

But numbers don’t tell the full story. The real story is in the smile of a mother who doesn’t have to choose between food and medicine. The real story is the laughter of a child holding a book again. The real story is (RESILIENCE).

To our volunteers: You are the heart of BenueAID. You wade through the mud, drive the long miles, and stay late to pack the relief materials. Thank you for your Igyoh (sacrifice).

To our donors and partners: You saw the need and didn’t look away. Your generosity has saved lives. We remain accountable to every kobo entrusted to us.

To the people of Benue: You are not forgotten. We will keep standing with you, amplifying your voice, and fighting for your dignity.

The road is still long. The needs are still great. But if these two years have taught us anything, it’s that God's Grace plus Community Action can move mountains.

Here’s to Year 3. More aid. More empowerment. More love. šŸš€
