The Benue State Bureau for International Cooperation and Development (BICD) recently trained leaders of the TAHAV Women Cooperative Society on business strategy building through a SWOT Analysis and Business Expansion session under the Promoting Women’s Economic Resilience (POWER) Project.
The session equipped the women leaders with practical skills to assess their strengths and challenges, identify realistic business growth opportunities, and strengthen leadership, planning, and record-keeping systems. Through participatory discussions and group exercises, members reviewed their existing enterprises, explored scaling options such as food processing and soap making, and agreed on actionable steps around partnerships, marketing, and sustainability.
Beyond strategy, the training reinforced confidence, unity, and long term thinking, positioning the TAHAV Women Cooperative Society to better access business opportunities and build sustainable livelihoods.
TAHAV Women Cooperative Society is a women-led social enterprise made up of internally displaced women. It is an initiative of RACE (Center for Redefining Alternative Civic Engagement for Africa) and GERI (Gender and Environmental Risk Reduction Initiative), with support from the Embassy of France in Nigeria.
