The Early years at Tivid Orphanage Home Int'l,
Highlighting the challenges and God's faithfulness:
Reflecting on the early years of Tivid Orphanage Home Int'l, I am reminded of the immense challenges we faced, especially during the period of intense herder-farmer clashes. During this tumultuous time, our home provided refuge for over 100 children. While feeding these children was manageable due to a stronger economy back then, the journey was far from easy, particularly because we had just started our mission barely three years prior.
With no formal knowledge or clear blueprint on how to manage such an endeavor, each day was a learning experience. I remember nights when the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming, but giving up was never an option. Our mission was clear: to provide a safe haven for these children, many of whom had lost their families or been displaced by the violence.
One instance that stands out vividly is the day we received a group of 20 children who had been separated from their families. They arrived scared, hungry, and traumatized. We had to act swiftly, not only to meet their immediate needs but also to provide emotional support and reassurance. It was a moment that tested our resolve and resources, but it also highlighted the strength and compassion within our team.
Despite the hardships, God's presence was undeniable. There were times when provisions would run low, and just as worry began to set in, donations would miraculously arrive, often from unexpected sources. One such moment was when we were down to our last bags of rice and had no funds to purchase more. Just then, a generous donor, moved by our story, provided enough food supplies to last several months.
Our journey was also marked by the support of the local community. Volunteers stepped in to help with tutoring, cooking, and even playing with the children. Their contributions, big and small, were like pieces of a puzzle coming together to create a picture of hope and love.
God's faithfulness shone brightly through these challenging times. He led us, provided for us, and strengthened us in ways we could never have imagined. Each child we sheltered and cared for became a testament to His grace and mercy. The bonds we formed and the lives we touched during those early years continue to inspire us today.
As we look back, it is clear that every trial we faced was a stepping stone, preparing us for the future. Our trust in God's guidance and provision has been unwavering, and He has never failed us. His faithfulness has been our anchor, and it is with this confidence that we move forward, continuing to serve and uplift the lives of the children entrusted to our care.
To God alone be all the glory!
With heartfelt gratitude,
