Laughter. Dancing. Hope.

Christmas of Hope was our way of showing up to listen, to connect, and to bring a moment of joy to women and children in the camp.

From dancing with the children to distributing dignity kits to adolescent girls, this visit was about more than giving, it was about presence, dignity, and understanding real needs.

This was just the beginning.
In our next post, we’ll share the impact and what this outreach revealed.

Growing up, Christmas was a season of joy, new clothes, shared meals, family visits, and the excitement that came with harmattan and celebration.

For many children from recently attacked communities now living in IDP camps, this will be their first Christmas away from home. The season that once brought excitement now brings longing for the life they left behind.

Hope Quest Foundation is committed to making this Christmas warm and memorable for them. With your help, we can bring joy into their festive season.

Some months ago, a small village in Benue State was attacked, leaving many families displaced,
homeless, and stripped of their possessions. As a result, members of this community fled to
Makurdi, the state capital, where some now reside in IDP camps while others squat with
relatives. These families continue to face significant challenges in meeting their basic needs,
especially when it comes to the education of their children.
The Christmas of Hope outreach seeks to ease this burden by supporting children from
displaced households with school kits that will equip them for their daily learning. By providing
these essentials, we not only lessen the financial strain on parents but also give children the
opportunity to return to school with dignity, confidence, and renewed hope.
Through this initiative, we hope to spread love and bring smiles to the faces of these children,
reminding them and their families that they are not forgotten.
OBJECTIVES
✓ To provide school kits (including notebooks, school bags, water bottles, pens, socks, face
masks, etc.) to children from displaced and low-income households.
✓ To ease the financial burden on parents and guardians by supporting their children’s
educational needs.
✓ To encourage children to return to school with confidence and dignity, take their
education seriously, and pursue their dreams.
