Public Education vs Private Sector Policy Our Position at MRDF

The recent policy by the Benue State Government to regulate private schools due to the economic burden on parents is a commendable step it reflects a government concerned about the welfare of its people.

However, at Minds Re-orientation and Development Foundation (MRDF), we believe that lasting change comes not just from regulating the private sector, but from strengthening the public sector

1. When public schools are well-funded, well-equipped, and affordable
2 . When quality teachers are trained, retained, and supported
3 . When parents can trust in the education their children are receiving at no high cost
then private schools will be left with no option but to reduce costs or raise standards and only those who choose to go private will do so based on personal preference, not because public education has failed.

Let us invest in public education as a strategic national priority not just for regulation, but for transformation.

At MRDF, we remain committed to civic education, equity, and policies that serve the people, especially the most vulnerable.

As an organisation that is poised to drive value orientation programs we believe that real change is from below at the grassroots, in rural communities. Grassroots Inclusion is not a favour or charity,
It is a foundation a strategic investment in national development.

When the people at the bottom are informed, the nation stands taller.

At MRDF, we are committed to bridging the information gap, especially in rural communities, by equipping them with the right knowledge to make informed decisions.

Our Goal is to
Strengthen democracy from the bottom to the top,
Reduce exploitation and misinformation ,

2. They do not have access to the right information
3. They lack the resources to access both
