LightHope Succor Worldwide Initiative proudly partnered with Voices 4 Change today to mark World Cleanup Day, themed "From Clean Plates to Clean Cities."

Volunteers and community members gathered at Mile 3 Market from 8:00AM for a street walk, cleanup exercise, and advocacy session on responsible waste management. Together, we picked up litter, engaged traders and residents on proper waste disposal, and held a street conference reinforcing the message that a cleaner environment starts with everyday choices.

The turnout and energy on ground were a strong reminder that change happens when communities show up for each other and their environment. LightHope remains committed to walking this journey alongside partners like Voices 4 Change, and we look forward to more collaborative action for a cleaner, healthier Rivers State.

🌍 **Empowering Women for Climate Justice in Frontline Communities!**

LightHope Succor Worldwide Initiative (LSWI) successfully hosted a one-day **Climate Education and Capacity Building** training on September 17, 2026, in Ogale, Eleme LGA, Rivers State, under the *She Bears the Brunt* project!

The session brought together 37 inspiring women—including farmers, fisherfolk, traders, youth, and persons with disabilities—from Kpean (Khana LGA), K-Dere (Gokana LGA), and Ogale (Eleme LGA).

Together, we:

* **Shared Lived Experiences:** Participants spoke on the harsh impacts of climate change, oil pollution, discolored water, and crop failures in their communities.
* **Mastered Data Collection:** Guided by the [GenCGov Climate and Gender Justice Toolkit](https://gencgov.org/two-communities-one-toolkit-gencgovs-first-climate-and-gender-justice-grants-take-the-toolkit-into-practice/?utm_source=gemini), women practiced using digital tools to document socio-economic loss and damage.
* **Built a Movement:** Selected community Climate Champions will now lead household data collection to build a verified, women-led Loss & Damage Registry for evidence-based advocacy!

Women are bearing the brunt of environmental degradation, but they are also at the forefront of demanding climate justice and inclusive governance. ✊✨
