Yaumi sponsors 250 Magumeri indigenes for 2026 JAMB
.. As ES leads students to registration centre in Maiduguri

Magumeri Local Government Council Chairman, Engr. Dr. Ali Yaumi, has approved and sponsored the registration of 250 Magumeri indigenes for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The beneficiaries include qualified Magumeri indigenes from various secondary schools and students from Government Day Senior Secondary School Magumeri (GDSSS)—an institution established in 2022 during Dr. Yaumi’s previous tenure as Chairman. Since its inception, the Council has consistently supported the students by covering their WAEC, NECO, and JAMB registration fees, in addition to facilitating their admissions into higher institutions nationwide.

The initiative complements the education-focused policies of Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, aimed at expanding access to quality education in the state.

The Education Secretary of the Local Education Authority (LEA) Magumeri, Umar Lawan Ardoram, led the students to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) registration centre in Maiduguri to oversee the registration process.

Addressing the candidates at the centre, Ardoram assured them of the council’s continued support and urged them to remain focused and disciplined in their academic pursuits. He encouraged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of Magumeri, Borno State, and Nigeria.

Also present at the registration centre were representative of Magumeri Higher Institution Students' Association (MAHISA), representatives of the Dr. Yaumi Foundation, and officials of the Borno Information Communication Technology Development Agency (BICTDA) Digital Literacy Training Centre, Magumeri, who monitored the exercise.

The sponsorship is part of ongoing efforts by the Magumeri Local Government Council to invest in human capital development and improve access to higher education for its youth.

NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE JAMB APPLICANTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Following concerns raised, the submission process has been duly reviewed. In consideration of the Ramadan period and prevailing financial constraints, the Council has approved a more convenient submission arrangement.

All prospective applicants are hereby directed to forward their credentials and required details via WhatsApp to the MAHISA President, Bashir Mallam Zaji, on 08087090718, upon presentation of their Magumeri indigene letter for confirmation.

Deadline: Sunday, 22 February 2026, 12:00 a.m. (midnight).

The Executive Chairman of Magumeri Local Government, Eng’r Dr. Ali Lawan Yaumi, is pleased to announce a Special JAMB 2026 Registration Support Program for eligible indigenes of Magumeri LGA.

This initiative is aimed at supporting our youth to achieve their academic dreams and secure admission into higher institutions across Nigeria.

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

MAHISA ANNOUNCES CABINET RESHUFFLE

The President of the Magumeri Higher Institutions Students’ Association (MAHISA), Bashir Mallam Zaji, has approved a strategic cabinet reshuffle and the appointment of new executive members for the 2025–2027 administration, with immediate effect. The reshuffle addresses gaps in the leadership structure following the graduation of some executive members, as provided for in the MAHISA Constitution.

The realignment is designed to strengthen the Association’s leadership framework, enhance service delivery, and ensure a more responsive and results-oriented administration that meets the evolving needs of the student body.

President Zaji reaffirmed his commitment to accountable and inclusive leadership and expressed confidence that the reconstituted executive team will advance MAHISA’s objectives and deliver tangible results for all members.

He commended the outgoing officers for their dedicated service and called on students and stakeholders to extend full support to the leadership in fostering unity, progress, and sustainable development.

Database update for Magumeri Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor's Degree holders

The Magumeri Higher Institution Students' Association (MAHISA) calls on all qualified and unemployed Magumeri indigenes who hold Certificates, Diplomas, or Bachelor's Degrees in any field to submit their personal data, updated CV/Resume, and credentials via the Google Form link provided below.

📄 Required Documents:
• Magumeri Indigene Certificate/Letter
• Academic Certificates
• Updated CV/Resume
• Any other relevant supporting documents
• Passport Photograph (in image format)

➡️ All documents must be converted to PDF, while the passport photograph should be uploaded in image format (e.g., JPG or PNG).

This initiative aims to bridge the existing gap in the educational database of Magumeri indigenes. The data collected will be securely stored and used for both current and future opportunities, including employment-related interventions and developmental programs.

Magumeri's Ali Emerges Best Graduate at University of Maiduguri

An indigene of Borno state Ali Muhammad Usman has emerged as one of the overall best graduating students in B.Sc Accounting with a CGPA of 4.52 in a 5.0 grading system at the University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID.

Ali, who hails from Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno state in the Northeast Nigeria also earned distinction in Nationa Diploma, ND in Accountancy from the Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri in 2021 where he emerged as one of the overall best students in the School of Management Studies with a CGPA 3.72 in a 4.0 grading system.

Magumeri Media learned that Mr. Usman held many leadership positions and some of his notable achievements include; President of the Investment Club-Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), participated in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Equity Research Challenge, represented Unimaid in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Students’ Challenge and achieved top ten national ranking.

He also served as an academic mentor to many students, where he mentored numerous students across the faculty, other universities, and Polytechnics. Ali's achievements reflect not only his intellectual brilliance but also his unwavering dedication to uplifting others. He continues to inspire with his commitment to excellence and leadership.

Many on social media platforms hailed the brainy man, congratulated him, and showered praises on his family, who encouraged and motivated their son to attain blockbuster achievements in his academic career.
