As young individuals, it is important to resist being entangled in inherited enmities, particularly when driven by humility or the pursuit of a specific position. Avoid letting minor issues or personal circumstances render you beholden to political figures who perceive your potential solely through their own self-interest.
Cultivate self-worth by first understanding your authentic identity, independent of external narratives. Be mindful that information is often presented with bias; seek to understand all sides of any situation.
The current digital era highlights how unmet needs, desperation for recognition, or a craving for power can lead to vulnerability. While mentorship is vital, it's concerning that many young people gravitate towards politicians associated with the misuse of public funds, rather than those who champion community development projects aimed at tangible societal improvement.
Southern Borno will surely rise again if we desire to look inward, unite and speak as one without allowing trivial issues to dictate our state of minds.
