We are excited to kick off our latest project:

DELIVERY OF EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE RISK EDUCATION (EORE) FOR IDPs, RETURNEES, AND REFUGEES IN BORNO STATE, NORTHEAST NIGERIA 🇳🇬

Funded by USAID and implemented in partnership and technical support from UNMAS , this project is dedicated to providing critical risk education to communities affected by conflict.

Explosive hazards continue to pose a serious risk to displaced populations and those returning to their communities in Borno State. Through targeted outreach, training, and community engagement, we aim to raise awareness and promote safe practices — helping to save lives and foster resilience.

WEEKLY CAPACITY BUILDING
Episode 4: Financial Management Planning for Individuals

In this week’s session, our Finance Officer, Olalekan Ojo, guided us through the essentials of personal financial planning. He emphasized the importance of setting clear financial goals; short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals and how these help structure a purposeful financial journey.

We learned how to track income and expenses, create a practical budget using the 50/30/20 rule, and build an emergency fund to cushion life’s unexpected turns. The session also covered smart debt management strategies, the importance of saving and investing for future growth, and protecting finances through insurance and digital security.

Olalekan wrapped up by reminding us to review our plans regularly and stay consistent. Personal finance isn’t just about money, it’s about building a life of stability, freedom, and intentional living.
