For the things we saw.

For the things we didn’t see.

For protection we didn’t know we needed.

For strength on the days that felt difficult.

And for another week to keep walking in faith.

May this weekend bring rest to the weary, peace to our homes, and gratitude to our hearts.

Have a blessed weekend. 🤍

Sometimes compassion looks like giving.

Sometimes it looks like sharing.

Sometimes it looks like simply making room.

We may not all have the same resources, but we can all choose to care about the person in front of us.

May we never become so focused on what we don’t have that we forget what we can give.

There is always something we can do.

You don’t have to have all the answers to make a difference.

Sometimes, you start by asking.

Who needs help?
What do they need?
What can I do?

Compassion begins when we stop assuming and start paying attention.

May we never be too busy to notice a need—or too quick to believe that someone else will handle it.

Look around. Someone may need what you have.

It’s easy to remember numbers.

The number killed.
The number displaced.
The number of communities affected.

But behind every number is a person.

Someone’s parent.
Someone’s child.
Someone’s sibling.
Someone’s friend.

May we never become so familiar with the statistics that we forget the humanity behind them.

People are more than numbers.

We cannot look away.

They need relief.
They need protection.
They need peace.

Our brethren are hurting. We cannot look away.

In July, LayFaithful went to Ungwan Magaji in Kauru LGA, Kaduna State, with food and financial assistance for Christians affected by a devastating attack in June.

But when the team arrived, the community had been attacked again.

We came expecting to meet people recovering from loss.

Instead, we met a community mourning again.

The planned relief distribution had to be moved because of the fear and tension in the area.

The food could not erase their grief.

The cash assistance could not bring back those they had lost.

But it could say something important:

You are not forgotten.
You are not suffering alone.

Our brethren do not only need relief.

They need security.
They need protection.
They need to live without constantly fearing another attack.

Because no community should have to keep rebuilding from one tragedy while preparing for the next.

We never know when life will place us on the receiving end of someone else’s compassion.

A helping hand.
A kind word.
A meal.
A simple act of generosity.

What feels small when we give it can mean everything when someone is in need.

So today, don’t wait for the perfect moment.

If you can help, help.
If you can give, give.
If you can show kindness, do it now.

Someone may be waiting for exactly what is already in your hands.

Another week is here.

Another chance to pray more.
To love better.
To give more freely.
To notice the people around us.
To do the good we kept postponing.

We don’t know what this week will bring, but we can choose what we bring into it.

May we carry faith into uncertainty, compassion into difficult places, and hope into every opportunity to make a difference.

May this week count for something.

You may not be able to change everything happening around you.

But you can do something.

Give what you can.
Help where you can.
Speak up when it matters.
Pray.
Show compassion.
Refuse to look away.

We may not all have the same resources, but we can all choose to respond.

May God help us see beyond ourselves and use what is in our hands to make a difference.

We often look at the problems around us and think, “Someone needs to do something.”

But what if the question is:

What can I do?

Not everyone can give the same thing.

Not everyone has the same resources.

But everyone can do something.

A little generosity.
A little compassion.
A little courage.
A little willingness to serve.

And sometimes, little things become something much bigger when we all participate.

Let’s all play a part.
