Gwoza LGAs in Borno State was not left out as the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized the Beneficiaries' Graduation, Livelihood Starter Pack Distribution, and Cultural Festival under the EU Support for Disengagement, Review, Reintegration, and Reconciliation (SD3R) of Persons Formerly Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

The event marked the successful graduation of beneficiaries who completed the reintegration programme and the distribution of livelihood starter packs to empower them with sustainable means of income. It also featured a vibrant cultural festival that celebrated peace, unity, reconciliation, and community acceptance.

The activity held at the Emir of Gwoza's Palace, the event brought together traditional rulers, government officials, development partners, Allamin team, religious leaders, community members, and beneficiaries to reaffirm their collective commitment to sustainable peace, social cohesion, and the successful reintegration of persons formerly associated with non-state armed groups.

Through the continued support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the SD3R initiative has strengthened community resilience, fostered reconciliation, and created sustainable livelihood opportunities that contribute to lasting peace and stability across Borno State.

Beneficiaries' Graduation, Livelihood Starter Pack Distribution, and Cultural Festival in Bama LGA Borno State.

As part of the EU Support for the Disengagement, Review, Reintegration, and Reconciliation of Persons Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (SD3R) project, supported by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development successfully organized a beneficiaries' graduation ceremony, distributed livelihood starter packs, and hosted a cultural festival in Bama Local Government Area. The initiative aims to promote sustainable reintegration, economic empowerment, social cohesion, and lasting peace within the community.

With support from the International Civil Society Action Network - ICAN the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development held an inception meeting to orient staff, community advocates, and members of the Women's Forum on the project's methodology and tools. The meeting was conducted under the Strengthening Pathways to Reintegration and Community Resilience Against Violent Extremism in Borno State project, providing participants with a shared understanding of the project's objectives, implementation approach, and key tools for effective delivery. In line with its participatory approach, Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development facilitated validation meetings with key stakeholders in Bama and Gwoza LGAs Borno State to review and confirm the livelihood skills selected by beneficiaries, along with the corresponding Bills of Quantities (BoQs), prior to distribution.

This process reinforces the principles of transparency, community participation, and value for money while ensuring that project interventions are aligned with the expressed needs and priorities of the target populations in Bama and Gwoza under the EU-Support for the Disengagement, Deradicalized, Reintegration and Reconciliation of Persons with Non-State Armed Groups (SD3R) Project, with support from the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP and European Union in Nigeria UNICEF Nigeria UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime IOM - UN Migration International Civil Society Action Network - ICAN Amnesty International

Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, in collaboration with the Community Women Mediators Forum (COMWOMF) and Community Advocates for Transitional Justice (CATJ), conducted a community outreach activity in Gonidamgari Community, Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC), Borno State.
The outreach was carried out under the project titled “Bridging the Gaps for Sustainable Peace and Reconciliation in Borno State,” with support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
The activity aimed to promote peacebuilding, reconciliation, community engagement, and awareness on transitional justice within the community.

Through the EU-Support for the Disengagement, Deradicalization, Reintegration and Reconciliation of Persons Formerly Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (SD3R) Project, Allamin Foundation for Peace and development, with support from the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP and the European Union in Nigeria , commissioned four newly drilled boreholes across four communities and launched a Tree Planting Campaign aimed at addressing the effects of climate change.

The projects were officially commissioned by the Executive Chairman of Bama Local Government Area, Hon. Babagana Barma.

Implemented in collaboration with the Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to community development, environmental restoration, and sustainable peacebuilding.

Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development conducted a community engagement and sensitization session in MMC through its Community Advocates for Transitional Justice (CATJ) under the project “Healing and Hope: Community-Based Deradicalization of Children Affected by Conflict in Borno State.” with support from International Civil Society Action Network - ICAN

The engagement brought together key stakeholders, including religious leaders, traditional leaders, women leaders, youth leaders, school teachers, Islamiyya teachers, opinion leaders, and other community members.

The session aimed to raise awareness on the importance of community-driven approaches to deradicalization, promote acceptance and reintegration of conflict-affected children, strengthen trust and collaboration among community members, and encourage collective responsibility in fostering peace, social cohesion, and resilience within the community.

Courtesy Visit to the Director General, Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration on the Foundation’s SD3R Project in Bama and Gwoza, aimed at combating desert encroachment, with support from the European Union, United Nations Development Programme, and the Borno State Government.
