*Allamin Foundation Trains 30 Staff and Volunteers on Leadership, Emerging Challenges, and Self-Care*

The Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development (ALFOPED) has successfully conducted a joint capacity-building training for 30 staff members and volunteers, focusing on Leadership, Response to Emerging Trends and Challenges, and Self-Care.

The training was held on Thursday, 8th October 2026, at Town Grill Hall, Maiduguri, and facilitated by a consultant, with support from Amnesty International Funds.

The session aimed to strengthen participants’ leadership skills, enhance their ability to respond effectively to emerging trends and challenges in their work, and promote self-care and personal well-being.

The training also provided an opportunity for staff and volunteers to improve their knowledge, strengthen their professional capacities, and become better equipped to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Through this initiative, ALFOPED reaffirms its commitment to staff and volunteer development, organisational effectiveness, and sustainable peacebuilding and community development.

The Foundation appreciates Amnesty International Funds for supporting this important capacity-building initiative.

Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Livelihoods

Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN), conducted the distribution of business start-up kits and cash grants to 40 beneficiaries, comprising 20 deradicalised minors and 20 vulnerable women-headed households.

The intervention is aimed at strengthening livelihoods, promoting self-reliance, supporting reintegration, and creating opportunities for beneficiaries to build more stable and resilient futures within their communities.

The distribution was witnessed by representatives from the Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Information and Internal Security, Ministry of Education and Innovation, as well as District Heads, Village Heads, Ward Heads, community leaders, trainees, and other key stakeholders.

The presence and participation of government representatives, traditional leaders and community stakeholders reaffirm the importance of collective efforts in promoting peace, reintegration, social cohesion and sustainable livelihoods.

Allamin Foundation appreciates ICAN for its continued support and partnership towards strengthening community resilience and empowering vulnerable populations in Borno State.

🌍 SheBuildPeace Campaign 2026

Today, Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN), convened the SheBuildPeace Campaign 2026 under the theme:

“Investing in Women Peacebuilders: Recognising, Supporting and Strengthening Everyday Peacebuilders in Borno State.”

The programme aligned with the International Day of Peace 2026 theme: “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”

The event brought together Government stakeholders, security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, faith-based organisations, Jire Dole Network, Civil Society Organisations and media practitioners to recognise and strengthen the vital role of women and communities in building sustainable peace.

END-OF-PROJECT DISSEMINATION & LESSONS LEARNED – SD3R PROJECT

Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development (ALFOPED) successfully convened the End-of-Project Dissemination and Sharing of Lessons Learned, Best Practices and Challenges under the project titled:

“EU Support for the Disengagement, Review, Reintegration, and Reconciliation of Persons Formerly Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in Borno State, North-East Nigeria (SD3R).”

The project was implemented in Bama and Gwoza LGAs of Borno State, with funding from the European Union (EU) and support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The dissemination event brought together key stakeholders, project partners, community representatives and beneficiaries to reflect on the project's achievements, share experiences, document lessons learned, highlight best practices, and discuss challenges encountered during implementation.

The successful participation of stakeholders and beneficiaries provided an important platform for meaningful dialogue, accountability, knowledge sharing and reflection on efforts towards sustainable reintegration, reconciliation, social cohesion and peacebuilding in affected communities.

ALFOPED appreciates the European Union, UNDP, government institutions, traditional and religious leaders, community stakeholders, beneficiaries, partners and all participants for their invaluable support and contributions throughout the implementation of the project.

Together, we continue to build stronger, more peaceful and resilient communities in Borno State.

Gwoza LGAs in Borno State was not left out as the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized the Beneficiaries' Graduation, Livelihood Starter Pack Distribution, and Cultural Festival under the EU Support for Disengagement, Review, Reintegration, and Reconciliation (SD3R) of Persons Formerly Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

The event marked the successful graduation of beneficiaries who completed the reintegration programme and the distribution of livelihood starter packs to empower them with sustainable means of income. It also featured a vibrant cultural festival that celebrated peace, unity, reconciliation, and community acceptance.

The activity held at the Emir of Gwoza's Palace, the event brought together traditional rulers, government officials, development partners, Allamin team, religious leaders, community members, and beneficiaries to reaffirm their collective commitment to sustainable peace, social cohesion, and the successful reintegration of persons formerly associated with non-state armed groups.

Through the continued support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the SD3R initiative has strengthened community resilience, fostered reconciliation, and created sustainable livelihood opportunities that contribute to lasting peace and stability across Borno State.

Beneficiaries' Graduation, Livelihood Starter Pack Distribution, and Cultural Festival in Bama LGA Borno State.

As part of the EU Support for the Disengagement, Review, Reintegration, and Reconciliation of Persons Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (SD3R) project, supported by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development successfully organized a beneficiaries' graduation ceremony, distributed livelihood starter packs, and hosted a cultural festival in Bama Local Government Area. The initiative aims to promote sustainable reintegration, economic empowerment, social cohesion, and lasting peace within the community.
