A child should never lose their future to a preventable disease.

This week, we return to the communities with renewed energy and an even greater commitment to protect children from cholera. Every awareness session, every handwashing demonstration, and every conversation with parents is another opportunity to save a child's life.

But the need is greater than our reach.

Thousands of children remain vulnerable because they lack access to clean water, proper sanitation, and lifesaving health information. With your support, we can reach more families, equip more communities, and protect more children before cholera strikes.

When you invest in cholera prevention, you are not just funding a project. You are giving children the chance to grow, learn, dream, and thrive.

Partner with MECOMHEDI. Invest in children. Save lives.

The future is not built by spectators. It is built by those willing to learn, lead, and create lasting impact.

We proudly celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the Media Communication for Health and Development Initiative Internship 1.0 Programme and the successful closeout of the SAFE Initiative Project. More than certificates were awarded. Our interns gained hands on experience, turned knowledge into action, and designed and implemented impactful projects both within and beyond the office.

These group photos capture more than smiles. They tell the story of growth, collaboration, resilience, and a new generation of young professionals ready to transform their communities.

Congratulations to our graduates. This is not the finish line. It is the beginning of a journey toward greater impact.

A smile can brighten the day, but one meal is not enough.

As the lean season continues, many children and families still face hunger, malnutrition, and crisis. Every child deserves nutritious food, good health, and hope for a better future.

Together, we can make a difference. Every meal shared and every act of kindness brings us closer to a world where no child goes hungry.

This week, we're not only reaching hard-to-reach communities, but we're also at the heart of Maiduguri, Borno State, taking the fight against cholera directly to the people.

We are still out engaging market traders and hawkers with life-saving cholera prevention messages while distributing hygiene materials to promote safe hygiene practices and help stop the spread of the disease.

Together, through awareness, prevention, and community action, we can protect lives and build healthier communities.

No community should be left behind. No child should be left at risk.

From busy streets to hard to reach communities, Mecomhedi and our partners are taking lifesaving messages directly to the people. Through community dialogue, local town announcers, and other trusted communication channels, we are creating awareness about the dangers of child hawking while educating families on practical ways to prevent cholera.

Every conversation matters. Every message shared can save a life.

When communities are informed, children are better protected, families make healthier choices, and outbreaks can be prevented. Together, we are empowering communities with the knowledge they need to keep children safe, practice good hygiene, use clean water, wash hands with soap, and seek early treatment when cholera symptoms appear.

Protect a child. Prevent cholera. Strengthen a community.

When communications focal persons speak with one voice, communities are better protected. In every outbreak, accurate information is just as vital as the response itself.

‎We had the privilege of bringing together communications focal persons from national organizations leading cholera prevention and outbreak response in Borno State to strengthen collaboration, share knowledge, align communication strategies, and reinforce humanitarian risk communication.

‎Our discussions focused on combating misinformation, harmonizing risk communication efforts, and ensuring that every community receives accurate, timely, and trusted public health messages. By working together and coordinating our voices, we can build public trust, encourage lifesaving behaviors, and strengthen the collective response to cholera.

‎Collaboration goes beyond sharing ideas. It creates a united front that empowers communities with the information they need to prevent the spread of disease and protect lives.

‎Together, we communicate better. Together, we save lives.

Accurate Information Saves Lives. Collective Action Stops Cholera.

Communities are the first line of defense against cholera.

MECOMHEDI, with the support of our partners, continues to engage Bulamas (community leaders), religious leaders, women leaders, and community members to strengthen awareness and promote accurate information on cholera prevention.

By empowering trusted community voices with lifesaving health messages, we are encouraging safe hygiene practices, early reporting of suspected cases, and collective action to prevent the spread of cholera.

We welcome continued support from partners and donors to help us reach more communities with lifesaving interventions. Together, we can prevent cholera and save lives.

Reaching the Hardest-to-Reach Communities to Prevent Cholera. Every community deserves access to lifesaving health information and safe water.

MECOMHEDI, in collaboration with partners is actively reaching underserved and hard-to-reach communities with chlorination activities and intensive cholera prevention awareness campaigns.
Our teams are working tirelessly to educate families on safe hygiene practices, water treatment, early recognition of cholera symptoms, and the importance of seeking prompt medical care. Together, we are helping communities protect lives and reduce the spread of cholera.

However, the need is still far greater than our current reach.

We call on donors, partners, organizations, and well-meaning individuals to join us in expanding this lifesaving intervention to more vulnerable communities. Together, we can save lives, strengthen community resilience, and prevent future outbreaks.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated partners FRAD Foundation, Care Best Initiative and Casfod Nigeria for their unwavering commitment to protecting the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.

Together, we can stop cholera before it spreads.
