At Youths Awaken Foundation (YAF), we believe that strengthening our capacity is key to delivering lasting impact.

We were pleased to participate in a four-day Proposal Writing Training organized by the EYN Project in partnership with Christian Aid in Nigeria for members of the ERC Network.

The training enhanced our skills in identifying funding opportunities, developing strong project concepts, preparing realistic budgets, and designing competitive, results-driven proposals. These insights will strengthen our ability to mobilize resources and deliver sustainable interventions for vulnerable communities.

We sincerely appreciate Christian Aid in Nigeria, the EYN Project, and the ERC Network for this valuable learning opportunity. Together, we continue building stronger local organizations and creating lasting change.

Sport has the power to restore hope, build confidence, and bring people together.

We were honoured to attend the first Amputee Football Match in Maiduguri, organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the Accessible Independent Living Initiative (AILI). The event brought together weapon-wounded persons and beneficiaries of the ICRC Physical Rehabilitation Programme, showcasing resilience, teamwork, and determination.

At Youths Awaken Foundation (YAF), we reaffirm our commitment to advancing victim assistance by supporting initiatives that promote rehabilitation, inclusion, dignity, and meaningful participation for survivors of conflict and explosive ordnance. Together, we can build communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

In Yola, Adamawa State, participants of the Certified Project Officer Scholarship Program – Cohort 2 didn’t just graduate… they took ownership.

They planned and executed their own participant-led graduation and knowledge-sharing event—a true reflection of the skills, teamwork, and leadership they’ve built throughout the program.

This wasn’t just a celebration, it was proof that learning has translated into action. From collaboration to coordination, the Yola cohort showed that young people are not waiting for change, they are driving it.

We celebrate your effort, your growth, and your commitment to making an impact where it matters most.

🙏 Thank you to (CPI)and all partners supporting this journey.

The Certified Project Officer (CPO) Scholarship Program – Cohort 2 has officially come to a close 🎓

Over the past 14 weeks, a group of dedicated young professionals committed themselves to learning, growth, and transformation. Through interactive sessions, peer learning, and practical engagement, they have developed the skills needed to plan, manage, and deliver impactful projects within their communities.

What stands out most is not just the completion—but the confidence, clarity, and capacity these participants now carry forward. The graduation ceremonies in Maiduguri and Yola marked a powerful moment of reflection, achievement, and renewed commitment to community impact.

As Northeast Nigeria continues to navigate complex challenges, programs like this remain vital in raising locally driven leaders equipped to respond with competence and purpose. This achievement is especially significant as these young professionals continue to contribute meaningfully within the humanitarian and development space in Northeast Nigeria.

We appreciate the continued partnership of the (CPI), our guest speakers, mentors, and everyone who contributed to the success of this cohort.

Cohort 2, the real work begins now.
