NetCARE conducted a drawing and colouring activity designed to nurture children’s creativity, self-expression, confidence, and ability to explore new skills through art.

The activity provided a fun, safe, and supportive space where children could freely express themselves, interact with others, and learn while enjoying the creative process.

The session was a great success, with the children actively participating and demonstrating enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence.

Supporting Children’s Psychosocial Well-Being in Pulka 💙

NETCARE conducted a recreational Psychosocial Support (PSS) session for children in Pulka, creating a safe and supportive space for play, socialization, emotional expression, and positive interaction.

The session focused on promoting children’s psychosocial well-being, strengthening social connections, encouraging healthy emotional expression, and supporting normalization through structured recreational activities.

A total of 44 children participated, engaging in activities designed to foster confidence, connection, joy, and resilience.

Through community-based PSS, NETCARE continues to support children and create opportunities for them to learn, play, express themselves, and build stronger social bonds. 🌱

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY HEALTH THROUGH MOBILIZATION AND CAPACITY BUILDING

Network for Community AIDS and Relief Organization (NetCARE) conducted a community mobilization and capacity-building session at Central Primary School IDP Camp, Damboa, focused on Integrated Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Immunization, and Environmental Sanitation.

The engagement brought together adolescents, caregivers, and community members to strengthen knowledge, promote positive health-seeking behaviours, and encourage community ownership of key health and sanitation practices.

Key areas addressed included:

🔹 Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH): Promoting access to accurate information and encouraging adolescents to make informed and responsible health decisions.

🔹 Immunization: Raising awareness on the importance of routine immunization and timely access to essential vaccines, particularly for children and other vulnerable populations.

🔹 Environmental Sanitation: Promoting improved hygiene, cleanliness, proper waste management, and community-led actions to reduce health risks within the IDP community.

Through this intervention, NetCARE continues to strengthen community resilience by equipping vulnerable populations with the knowledge and capacity needed to protect their health and well-being.

We remain committed to working alongside communities and relevant stakeholders to advance inclusive, accessible, and sustainable health interventions for vulnerable populations in conflict-affected communities.

Community members were encouraged to:
✅ Stay away from any suspicious object or explosive remnants.
✅ Never touch, move, or tamper with suspected explosive devices.
✅ Immediately report any suspicious item to the appropriate authorities or humanitarian actors.

Knowledge is one of the strongest tools in preventing disease outbreaks.
NeTCARE Organization conducted a community sensitization session with women on Cholera Prevention and Control in the Host Community of Pulka Town, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State.
The session focused on promoting proper hand hygiene, safe drinking water, environmental sanitation, food safety, and the early recognition of cholera symptoms. By equipping women with practical health information, we are helping families and communities reduce the risk of cholera and protect lives.
