Speaker of the Borno State Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Usman, alongside the House Leader, Amb. Talha Musa Magumeri, attended the Wedding Fatiha of Hon. Engr. Usman Giwi, former Member representing Askira/Uba Constituency.

During the occasion, the Speaker prayed for the couple, asking Almighty Allah to bless their union and make them among the best in life, peace, and prosperity.

The House Leader, Amb. Talha Musa Magumeri, also emphasized the cordial and mutual relationship existing between members of the First Assembly and the serving Second Assembly of the Borno State Youth Parliament, describing it as a bond built on unity, respect, and shared vision for youth development.

The event was graced by dignitaries, friends, family members, and well-wishers who came together to celebrate the joyful occasion.

THE BORNO STATE YOUTH PARLIAMENT has REAFFIRMED ITS UNWAVERING AND HOLISTIC SUPPORT FOR THE SPEAKER OF THE BORNO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

In a show of solidarity and commitment, the Parliament also donated the sum of ₦500,000 to support the efforts and challenges that lie ahead.

The Speaker of the Borno State Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Usman, presented the token on behalf of the entire youth of Borno State.

Speaking further, the Leader of the House, Amb. Talha Musa Muhammad, described Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan as a true example of a leader who deserves greater recognition.

In his response, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to members of the Borno State Youth Parliament, his supporters, loyalists, well-wishers, and the entire people of Borno State for their continued support.

Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan holds the distinguished record of being the longest-serving Speaker in Nigeria’s history, a testament to his competence, political maturity, and the confidence reposed in him by his colleagues and stakeholders. His tenure spans critical periods in Borno’s political journey, including the administrations of His Excellency Sen. Kashim Shettima Kashim Shettima and the current administration of His Excellency Governor Zulum The Governor of Borno State

The Borno State Youth Parliament proudly celebrates Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, on the remarkable occasion of his 14th anniversary in office.

Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan has demonstrated uncommon commitment to leadership, stability, and inclusive governance throughout his years of service. He made history as the first Speaker to inaugurate the Borno State Youth Parliament within the hallowed chamber of the Assembly—an act that symbolized his strong belief in youth inclusion and participatory democracy.

Under his leadership, the Youth Parliament has been given repeated opportunities to conduct its sittings in the chamber, access institutional support, and execute impactful projects across the state. His continuous support has created a platform for young people to develop leadership capacity, civic responsibility, and a voice in governance.

A CALL FOR AN ACTION

The Borno State Youth Parliament held its 4th Official Sitting at the hallowed chambers of the Borno State House of Assembly, where critical issues affecting young people in the state took centre stage

The sitting was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Usman, who declared proceedings open and welcomed dignitaries, invited guests, and members of the parliament.

A major highlight of the session was a motion moved by Hon. Hadiza Isa of Bayo Counsituency the urgent need to address gender-based violence faced by adolescent girls in secondary schools across Borno State.

The motion received unanimous support from honourable members.
The motion was seconded by the Hon. Member representing Abadam Constituency, while members representing Jere, Biu, and Magumeri Constituencies co-sponsored the motion, emphasizing its importance and the need for actionable strategies to protect vulnerable girls in schools.

BORNO STATE YOUTH PARLIAMENT PAYS HOMAGE TO THE SHEHU OF BORNO ...

The Borno State Youth Parliament paid a homage visit to His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, CFR, at his palace to seek royal blessings and guidance for the Parliament’s activities.

The Speaker of the Parliament led the delegation of Honourable Members, expressing profound gratitude to the revered monarch for his continuous fatherly support, leadership, and commitment to the development of Borno State and its young people.

In response, the Shehu of Borno offered heartfelt royal blessings and prayers for the Parliament, urging members to remain united, purposeful, and committed to serving the interests of the youths and the state at large. He prayed for the success of the Parliament in all its future endeavours.

The visit ended with words of encouragement, with the members reaffirming their dedication to contributing meaningfully to peace, progress, and development in Borno State.
