Luminous Future Initiative (LFI) is a non-political, non-profitable and non-governmental organization, saddled with aim to target quality child education, child development and peace building. LFI was formed and registered to pervasive literacy level, increasing out of school children. The current and increased mayhem caused by insurgents has displaced so many households and IDP camps and host com

munity keep increasing in number and hereby increasing community needs across the northern Nigeria, and extended to west African sub-region, with consequent humanitarian and social crises that could not be responded to by local actors due to lack of funding and capacity. LFI believe to promote access to quality education to children, reduce or possible elimination of all forms of child abuse and create awareness on the effect of drug abuse through a developmental process that leads to full realization of their potentials, and thus lead them to becoming responsible and productive adults.

📚As we celebrate the resumption of schools across Nigeria today, we acknowledge the government's commendable efforts in providing education to IDPs in affected regions. However, over 4,000 children and adolescents in Elmiskin IDP camp are not enrolled in formal schools, and this is a cause for concern.

📝 We have observed the challenges faced by the children who are not enrolled in formal schools, despite the informal education we have been providing through our Street2school program and that of organizations like Rise To Inspire Africa Initiative - RIA Initiative & Luminous Future Initiative. Therefore, we strongly emphasize the urgent need for formal education for the children and adolescents in the camp.

🤝 As a youth-led social enterprise, we are committed to collaborating with relevant agencies and stakeholders to address the education needs of IDPs in the Elmiskin camp. We believe that a collaborative approach is essential in providing sustainable and effective solutions to the education needs of IDPs.

🙏 We call on all stakeholders to prioritize the education needs of IDPs in Nigeria, particularly in the Elmiskin camp. We urge the government to work with NGOs and civil society organizations to establish formal schools or provide support for informal education initiatives in the camp. Together, we can provide sustainable and effective solutions to the education needs of IDPs and secure a better and brighter future for all.

It was indeed a productive engagement having been part of content development that will enhance literacy and numeracy skills, entrepreneurial skills to targeted beneficiaries.

Luminous Future Initiative (LFI) participated actively alongside DD skills acquisition centre and, with Team MUDA as the leading team to support its second phase of street2school project.

This initiative will empower vulnerable young boys and girls in marginalized communities through access to access to basic education and skills necessary for them to become productive citizens.
