Yesterday , Mon Club International (MCI) hosted the National Partners’ Food Security Sector Meeting at our office in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The meeting brought together humanitarian partners to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration, build local capacity, improve coordination, and mobilise resources to support vulnerable communities.

Partners also discussed the ongoing transition in humanitarian coordination, the importance of supporting local organisations, and the need to identify and respond to the needs of newly arrived populations in Damasak.

It was a valuable opportunity to share updates, discuss challenges and explore how we can work better together to reach communities in need.

At Monclub, we know that addressing humanitarian needs takes collective effort, and we remain committed to working with partners towards more effective support for vulnerable communities.

🔹 Yesterday Mon Club International was at the NNGO Forum event in Gonori Community, Jere LGA, Borno State. The commemoration brought together institutions, international and local NGOs, United Nations Agencies, Borno State Ministries, Leadership of Persons with Disabilities and other Partners, where they reinforced the importance of collective action in assisting food security and humanitarian challenges.

🔹 The participation reflected an ongoing commitment within the humanitarian community. Bringing together humanitarian actors and community stakeholders to share ideas and strengthen collaboration.

🔹 As part of the engagement, the Food Security Sector under the NNGO Forum organised a tree-planting exercise, in which MCI actively participated. Beyond addressing immediate humanitarian needs, initiatives like this contribute to sustainable livelihoods, environmental sustainability and stronger, more resilient communities.

Our Director of Operations, Mr. Milnda Hamman, shares in the video what Monclub means by building resilient communities. It means looking beyond immediate needs and supporting actions that contribute to sustainable livelihoods and healthier environments.

As part of our World Breastfeeding Week activities, we joined the Borno State Primary Health Care Management and Development Board, WFP, UNICEF, FAO, WHO, and other health and nutrition partners across locations in Borno State to promote the importance of breastfeeding and support mothers and caregivers.

The activities brought together mothers, caregivers, and their babies for interactive sessions on the importance of breastfeeding, its benefits for both mother and child, and the common challenges families may face. Participants were also encouraged to practice exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, without giving water or other foods during this period.

Across our locations, we continue to support mothers and caregivers with the knowledge, encouragement, and care they need to give every child a healthy start in life.
