A year may pass, but some people are never forgotten.

Today, we remember Zion Japhet — a colleague, a friend, and a dedicated humanitarian whose commitment to serving vulnerable communities left a lasting mark on our organisation and the people we serve.

His professionalism, and passion for making a difference continue to inspire us.

Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the work he helped strengthen.

Forever remembered. Deeply missed. Always in our hearts.

As we officially close the Integrated Nutrition and Protection Assistance Project, we celebrate more than activities completed—we celebrate lives strengthened, communities supported, and hope restored.

Implemented by JDPI Maiduguri with the generous support of the United Nations OCHA Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), the project provided vulnerable households with integrated nutrition and protection services that improved wellbeing, strengthened resilience, and restored dignity.

The closeout ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements, share lessons learned, and hear inspiring testimonies from beneficiaries whose lives have been positively transformed through the project. Women from intervention communities also presented vibrant cultural dances, adding colour to the event while showcasing the resilience, unity, and rich cultural heritage of the communities served.

While the project has come to an end, the knowledge, skills, community structures, and strengthened capacities established through the intervention will continue to contribute to healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

JDPI Maiduguri was honored to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected Executive Members of the Network of Civil Society Organizations Borno State (NECSOB).

The event brought together civil society actors, partners, stakeholders, and government representatives in a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration, promoting accountability, and advancing sustainable development in Borno State.

A key highlight of the event was a thought-provoking paper presentation on:
“The Role of Civil Society in Refining the Political Landscape, Promoting Good Governance, and Strengthening Democracy in Conflict-Affected Societies.”

We congratulate the newly inaugurated executives and wish them success as they take on this important responsibility in service to society.

We are excited to share the successful hosting of the Quarterly Review Meeting (QRM) under the ALLRight Project in Maiduguri, Nigeria!

Held from April 28–30, 2026, this important session brought together dedicated teams from JDPI Maiduguri and CRS to reflect on progress, evaluate achievements, and strengthen strategies for the next phase.

The meeting focused on:
✔ Reviewing project implementation and key milestones
✔ Identifying challenges and practical solutions
✔ Strengthening resource mobilization strategies
✔ Enhancing accountability and learning through MEAL systems

Through participatory discussions, group sessions and action planning, participants developed clear priorities and strategies to improve impact across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states.

Together, we continue working toward improving the quality of life for vulnerable communities through strong partnerships, innovation, and local leadership.

For many children affected by crisis, identity can be lost along the way—but recognition restores hope.

With support from the United Nations OCHA -Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), JDPI Maiduguri is helping 900 children in Madagali LGA receive birth certificates—some for the first time, and others replacing documents lost during displacement caused by the crisis—restoring identity, protection, and hope for the future.
