Every child deserves a caring and supportive environment.

In Dikwa LGA Borno State, Protection Without Borders (POWIB), through funding support from Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) and in lead partnership with Street Child of Nigeria continues to engage parents and caregivers in positive parenting sessions focused on child protection, effective communication, and non violent approaches to raising children.

These sessions equip caregivers with practical skills to better understand children’s needs, strengthen family relationships, support healthy development, and build safer homes and communities.

At Protection Without Borders, we believe that when parents are supported with the right knowledge and tools, children are better protected and communities become more resilient.

Still celebrating the spirit of Children’s Day, Protection Without Borders, with funding support from UNICEF Nigeria , commemorated the occasion with children and adolescents across Kaga LGA, Borno State.

The celebration was held at Aisha Buhari Primary and Junior Secondary School, Benisheik Senior Secondary School, Adam Mustapha Primary and Junior Secondary School, and NRC Camp, bringing together children through learning, engagement, and awareness activities.

The activities focused on promoting physical health, hygiene practices, and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE). Through interactive sessions, children were encouraged to maintain good hygiene practices to help reduce the risk of disease outbreaks, including the ongoing cholera concerns in the state.

The awareness campaign also emphasized the importance of staying alert and avoiding unknown or suspicious objects in their surroundings, helping children understand how to stay safe from explosive ordnance risks.

At Protection Without Borders, we remain committed to creating safer environments for children, strengthening community awareness, and supporting children to grow, learn, and thrive.

Justice Starts with Knowing Your Rights

No one should suffer in silence because of fear, stigma, or a lack of information.

Through our Access to Justice awareness sessions in 1000 Units IDP Camp and Bulabulin Host Community, Dikwa LGA, community members learned about their fundamental rights, available justice pathways, and where to seek support when those rights are violated.

Because when people know their rights, they are better equipped to protect themselves and others.

Celebrating Children's Day in Dikwa and Damasak LGA.

Laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories filled the air as children across Dikwa and Mobbar LGA came together to celebrate Children's Day in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.

Beyond the games and excitement, the celebration served as an opportunity to equip children with essential knowledge on their safety, wellbeing, and resilience.

Through interactive awareness sessions, children learned about:

*Prevention of abduction and kidnapping in schools
*Explosive ordnance risk awareness
*Personal hygiene practices
*Cholera prevention and control

The day was also packed with exciting recreational activities, including sack races and other fun games that brought smiles, laughter, and joy to hundreds of children.

Held across Bulabulin Host Community, 1000 Units IDP Camp, Mudu Kaza IDP Camp, Central Primary School, and Shehu Sanda Community, the celebrations created meaningful moments where children could learn, play, and simply enjoy being children.

At Protection Without Borders (POWIB), we remain committed to ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, protective, and nurturing environment.

Through child centered programming, awareness raising, and community engagement, we continue to promote children's rights, wellbeing, and resilience, empowering them to reach their full potential.

Every child deserves protection, opportunity, and a future filled with hope.

Cholera Alert: Protect Yourself, Protect Your Community

In light of the current cholera outbreak in Maiduguri, raising awareness and sharing life saving information is critical to preventing further spread and protecting vulnerable communities.

Cholera can spread rapidly, but simple actions can save lives:

* Drink safe, treated, or boiled water
* Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean water
* Eat freshly prepared food and keep food covered
* Use clean toilets and dispose of waste safely
* Seek immediate medical care if you experience severe diarrhea or vomiting

Prevention starts with sensitization, practicing good hygiene and sharing accurate information.

We can help protect our families, neighbors, and communities.

Stay informed. Stay safe. Stop Cholera.
