"I almost didn't attend."

Those were the words of one participant after the last edition.

I thought it was just another men's programme. Another gathering where people would talk, clap, and go home. But I was wrong.

I came carrying confusion, silent battles, and questions I couldn't ask anyone. I left with clarity, conviction, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Nothing magical happened overnight. But something changed inside me. I stopped seeing myself as a victim of pressure and started seeing pressure as preparation.

I realised that becoming a man is not about age. It is about responsibility. It is about character. It is about purpose."

That testimony was not an isolated experience.

Many young men left challenged to think differently, lead intentionally, and embrace the responsibility of becoming the men they were created to be.

Now, the journey continues.

He looked like every other young man.

He laughed with his friends.
He posted on social media.
He showed up where people expected him to.

But every night, he fought battles no one could see.

The pressure to succeed.
The pressure to provide.
The pressure to fit in.
The pressure to become someone before he even understood who he was.

Then he walked into a gathering of men.

Not a place where perfection was celebrated, but where purpose was awakened.

He realised something powerful: Pressure is not your enemy. It is the forge.

Last time, young men came with questions and left with direction. They came carrying burdens and left carrying vision. They came as boys overwhelmed by life and walked away determined to become men on purpose.

It is The Next Man Summit.
This is more than another event.
It is a call to every young man who knows there is more within him than what the world currently sees.
It is the moment that changes the direction of your life.

The next man is not born by chance.
He is FORGED.

Here's a problem nobody wants to say out loud: Boys are being raised by accident.

Not because parents don't care. Not because teachers aren't trying. But because nobody sat down and made it intentional; nobody decided that the boy child deserved someone specifically in his corner, talking to him, listening to him, showing him what a man of character actually looks like.

And so boys grow up filling in the gaps themselves. Sometimes with the wrong things. Sometimes with silence. Sometimes with a version of manhood that nobody ever corrected.

We started Guys Mentorship Network in 2019 because we refused to look away from that reality. Since then we have held conferences, run programmes and had conversations that have reached hundreds of boys across schools and communities in Lokoja, Nigeria.

Boys who sat in rooms like the one in this photo; listening, absorbing, being seen for maybe the first time.

Most boys grow older, but responsibility is what truly turns a boy into a man.

Responsible young men don’t wait for perfect conditions, motivation, or feelings. They take ownership, stay disciplined, and think beyond the moment.

Manhood is built through decisions, consistency, and accountability.

There were so many errors in her video. Thanks for pointing them out.

But what stood out the most was her inability to even consider that she might have contributed to the failed marriages. That lack of self-awareness says a lot.

One major issue many people have is generalizing their personal experiences and turning them into universal truths. In reality, many of those experiences are shaped by lack of knowledge, failure to follow sound principles, and personal mistakes.

Your experience is not a standard.
