This Ramadan reminds us that life itself is the greatest gift.

And sometimes, saving a life starts with one simple action.

Be present. Be prepared. Be the reason someone gets another chance.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women making their mark in football.

The theme “Give to Gain” reminds us that when female players give time to learning CPR and heart emergency response, they gain the power to protect everyone on the pitch.

Through , the Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation continues to push for life-saving skills across football in Nigeria.

Heart valve disease is serious and often missed.

It affects how blood flows through your heart, and without early detection, it can lead to life threatening complications.

That’s why today matters.

At Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation, we align with global standards and advocacy led by the Alliance for Aging Research to promote heart health awareness and early diagnosis.

Listen to your heart. Don’t ignore the signs.

On this pitch, performance isn’t the only thing that matters… health does too.

At Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation, we go beyond the game to make sure athletes are truly fit from the inside out.

This moment captures one of the most important checks we carry out — fasting blood sugar screening. Because heart health isn’t just about what happens during a match, it’s about what’s happening in the body every single day.

Through , we're making it clear:
Every player deserves access to proper medical screening, early detection, and the knowledge to stay in the game longer.

This is how we protect the future of soccer.

If you’re about impact, prevention, and real change in football… we’re already doing the work.

Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation delivered cardiac screening and CPR training at the Super 6 NWFL Competition in Bayelsa, reinforcing our commitment to athlete safety and the prevention of sudden cardiac death in sports.

Using ECG based cardiac assessments, we screened and trained 52 participants, with 77 percent being female players, to identify underlying cardiac risk factors and improve emergency response readiness. Routine cardiac monitoring is critical in athletes, as early detection can help prevent conditions that may lead to lethal arrhythmias during intense physical activity.

This initiative reflects our medical expertise and long term vision to ensure that every football player is protected on and off the pitch.

Cardiac arrest does not discriminate by age or fitness level.
Even young, active, and seemingly healthy individuals can be affected.

It happens when the heart suddenly stops pumping blood effectively, often without warning. When this occurs, oxygen stops reaching the brain and vital organs, and every second becomes critical.

This is why awareness, early recognition, and CPR knowledge matter.
At Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation, we continue to advocate for heart health education and CPR awareness, especially in sports, schools, and everyday spaces where lives can be saved.

Understanding cardiac arrest is the first step toward preventing avoidable loss.

Every impact story starts with the people behind it.
Our staff conducted data-backed CPR training and heart-health testing for 107 participants at the Afriskaut NLO Cup 2024 Ijebu-Ode Ogun State with players making up 80% of those reached.
Each participant received:
ECG testing to evaluate heart rhythm
Blood Pressure checks to detect hypertension risk early
Fasting Blood Sugar tests to flag metabolic issues
Plus hands-on CPR training led by our instructors
This is how we build safer athletes, safer pitches, and safer games.

From blood pressure to ECG and fasting blood sugar, we put Ozalla FC players through life saving heart checks and taught them CPR too.
Our goal is simple: over 1,000 Nigerian footballers trained and tested, because a healthy heart is the true MVP.
This is more than training; it is about empowering athletes to protect themselves and their teammates.

Every athlete’s heart tells a story of dedication, endurance, and passion — but even the strongest hearts need protection. ❤️

Through our initiative, we’ve trained professional footballers across Lagos and beyond to perform lifesaving CPR — ensuring that every player knows how to respond when a teammate’s heart stops.

Because real strength isn’t just how hard you play — it’s knowing how to save a life when it matters most.

Let’s keep the game safe, one heartbeat at a time.
