Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 Brings Joy to Itedo Pupils at End-of-Year Celebration
The Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 once again lit up the Itedo community with its annual end-of-year celebration for pupils of Oba Yekini Elegushi Primary School, reaffirming Rotary’s enduring commitment to Service Above Self.
The school premises buzzed with excitement as pupils enjoyed games, dancing, gifts, and moments of pure joy. The event, which has become a cherished tradition for over a decade, highlights the club’s consistent dedication to hands-on community service and child development.
Rotarians joined the children in the festivities—cheering, dancing, and creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and connection.
Speaking at the event, the Club President, Rtn. Comfort Anorue, emphasized that the celebration goes beyond fun and entertainment.
“This is about humanity,” she said. “It is a reminder to these children that they are seen, valued, loved, and celebrated. Moments like this help build their confidence, self-esteem, and belief in a brighter future.”
She also expressed appreciation to the school’s teachers and administrators for their dedication to nurturing young minds.
Beyond the annual celebration, the Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 continues to support the pupils through humanitarian initiatives such as the donation of back-to-school items, including exercise books and Rotary-branded water bottles. These consistent interventions have made the club a trusted symbol of care and encouragement within the Itedo community.
Reiterating the club’s mission, Rtn. Anorue noted:
