A VICTORY WELL DESERVED: NYC IKOLE LGA CONGRATULATES HON. AKIN ROTIMI ON HIS HISTORIC PRIMARY ELECTION TRIUMPH

The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Ikole Local Government Area Chapter, Ekiti State, on behalf of our teeming membership and the youth constituency of this great local government, rises with immense pride and democratic conviction to congratulate Honourable Akin Rotimi on his landslide victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Ekiti North, Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency 1, conducted today.
This victory is not a surprise to us. It is a verdict.
In a keenly contested primary that featured formidable political figures, including former federal lawmaker Hon. Bimbo Daramola, an engineer and aspirant Engr. Kemi Elebute-Halle, and several other distinguished aspirants, Honourable Akin Rotimi emerged with an overwhelming mandate, clinching 22 out of 24 wards across both the Oye and Ikole Local Government Areas. That is not a win. That is a declaration of trust by the grassroots.
As a Congress, we have watched closely and we have spoken clearly: a good term deserves another.
Honourable Akin Rotimi’s first legislative tenure was defined by action, accessibility, and a sincere commitment to the communities he serves. His footprints are visible in the youth communities of this constituency. From empowerment initiatives to constituency engagement, he governed his mandate with a human face. The people did not forget. Today, they spoke.
The NYC, Ikole LGA Chapter, under my leadership as Coordinator, affirms our unwavering solidarity with the Honourable member. We express our heartfelt delight at this milestone and place on record that this Congress will remain a steadfast partner in the pursuit of good governance and progressive youth-centred representation. We are proud of what he has done for our communities and we are confident in what lies ahead.
As we look toward the 2027 general election, we call on all youth of Oye and Ikole federal constituency to stand behind this mandate. We urge Hon. Akin Rotimi, as he prepares for the next phase, to deepen his commitment to youth employment, skills development, and inclusive governance in his second legislative disposition. The youths are watching, and the youths are with him.
Let it be known: what the primary has declared, the general election will confirm.
