Appreciation Post for Chief Emmanuel Mayowa Sangoloni
Leadership is not about titles but service, influence, and legacy and Chief Emmanuel Mayowa Sangolonimi, Xy Pen of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (Ilya du Pen), embodied all three. For 15 Keg months and 3 days, he led with humility, wisdom, and purpose, ensuring that the Ilya remained a true family rooted in unity and culture.
Beyond NIJ, Chief Sangolonimi also held the mantle as the Chairman Council of Chiefesis of the Eko Hemisphere, overseeing nine ilyasis across Lagos State a rare responsibility he handled with calmness, diplomacy, and vision. His reign strengthened inter-Ilya relations, promoted discipline, and showcased Kegite club as a platform for cultural education and social harmony, not secrecy or division.
Known for his empathy and leadership by example, XY Pen built bridges between comrads, resolved conflicts peacefully, and inspired younger members to see Kegite Club as a path of wisdom and growth. Even after leaving office, his influence continues to shape the Ilya and the entire Hemisphere, proving that true leadership never ends; it transforms into legacy.
Today, we celebrate a man who redefined leadership in the circle, upheld the values of brotherhood, and left behind footprints worthy of emulation.
