President Tinubu: Economic Reforms Are for the Future of the Next Generation
On Thursday, March 13, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu explained that his administration's economic reforms are aimed at securing the future of the next generation.
"For 50 years, Nigeria has been spending the money of children yet to be born, while also using fuel to service the West Coast of our subregion. It has become difficult to plan for our children's future," he said.
Speaking at the State House, Abuja, while receiving some of his former National Assembly colleagues from the Third Republic—where he served as Senator for Lagos West—Tinubu acknowledged the challenges his administration faced upon assuming office, particularly in economic and social matters.
"When I took over, we faced serious difficulties—it was not easy at all. If we hadn't taken the necessary actions, Nigeria would have gone bankrupt, and the economy would have collapsed.
"But today, we have built a better foundation. We have reversed the crisis, the exchange rate is stabilizing, and food prices are coming down, especially during this Ramadan period. There is light at the end of the tunnel," Tinubu assured.
