Eric Opah Foundation supports the UNESCO for more initiatives needed to inspire and equip young women to pursue careers in science, technology and innovation.

Through our new initiative 'She Innovates', the foundation will provide education and skills for young girls and women requiring entrepreneurship and support in STEM.

Thus, we're intentionally contributing towards bridging the gender gap in Nigeria's digital landscape.

Today is the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM)

1. FGM is still practiced all around the world. It's not an African or the third world challenge.

2. The consequences of FGM for girls and women are painful and long lasting.

3. Medicalizing FGM does not make it safe for girls or women.

4. Ending FGM is possible.

Most of the countries where FGM is still practiced have legislated against it. However, cultural and social norms must change to end the practice.

Our foundation focuses on educating and empowering communities to reject harmful practices like FGM. We believe every girl and boy is a precious gift from God, and every child deserves protection from whatever keeps them from experiencing fullness of life.

We're happy to lend our voice and encourage you to 'Step up the Pace' to fully eradicate this harmful practice in our communities.

FEBRUARY 6
International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation 2025

The International Day of Zero Tolerance for female ge***al mutilation (FGM), observed annually on 6 February, provides an opportunity to highlight progress and raise awareness to end this harmful practice.

From community leaders to health workers and family members, everyone has a role to play. This year, with the theme 'Step up the Pace', we will focus on strengthening alliances and building movements to end FGM.
