*MSSN Odi-Olowo Central Branch Holds Pre-Election Enlightenment Program*
In anticipation of the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for this weekend, the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Odi-Olowo Central Branch, organized an insightful and timely lecture titled "*Enjoying Good Governance: The Muslim Role Before the Ballot Box.*"
The lecture, held on Sunday, 6th July 2025, at the branch’s central mosque hall, was delivered by the erudite Islamic scholar, Mallam Idris Akano, whose in-depth presentation enlightened attendees on the significance of civic engagement from an Islamic perspective. He emphasized that the responsibility of Muslims goes beyond merely voting, but includes a duty to ensure good governance by supporting competent, God-fearing leaders, understanding political issues, and being proactive in calling for justice and accountability.
The event recorded an impressive turnout, with 50 sisters, 10 adult brothers, and 12 children in attendance. The interactive session created a platform for participants to ask thought-provoking questions and share ideas on how Muslims can be proactive in promoting justice, equity, and accountability within their communities.
