On International Boy Child Day, we celebrate the potential within every boy to become a force for good. At The IREDE Foundation, we believe that empowering the boy child means teaching them that strength is found in empathy, leadership is found in service, and resilience has no limits.
Whether he is navigating the world on two legs or a prosthetic, every boy deserves a future where his dreams are valid and his voice is heard. Let’s commit to mentoring and supporting them as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

It's over 13 years now and one thing we never fail to answer is, "who we are." We exist to empower child amputees in Nigeria through access to prosthetic limbs, advocacy, and holistic support systems.

But our work goes beyond mobility, we advocate for young persons with disabilities, we bridge the gap between exclusion and inclusion whether in the workplace or in the society at large.

What started as a personal story now serves hundreds of children and many PWDs.
But the work continues until inclusion becomes a norm.

Inclusion is also YOU sharing, following, & engaging with this page until the everyone sees it

A child who loses a limb doesn’t just lose a body part. They lose the ability to run to class, to chase a ball, to stand in a line with their peers and feel ordinary.

That loss compounds quietly in confidence, in development, in the way the world begins to see them and the way they begin to see themselves.

A prosthetic changes that. It restores motion, yes, but more than that, it restores belonging. It tells a child: you are not defined by what is missing.

That is what The IREDE Foundation exists to do. And ₦400,000,000 is what it will take to do it at the scale these children deserve.

Help us close the gap between limitation and possibility.

This is an excerpt from Out on a Limb 2026 in Ikoyi, a moment that captures exactly why we do what we do.

At The IREDE Foundation, we see ability where the world often expects limitation.

Our champions, are not defined by what they’ve been through, but by how boldly they rise beyond it. They are swimming, dancing, learning, creating, playing, and showing up fully as themselves.

This is what it means to remind the world that every child can thrive when given the right support.

Because every child is able.

We’ve all heard it. “They’ll adjust.” “They’ll be fine.”

And maybe they will. But not because it’s easy, but because they have no other choice.

Resilience is not a substitute for support. A child with limb loss deserves more than the ability to cope. They deserve the chance to run, play, and grow fully, freely, without limits.

A prosthetic limb changes everything. And every child deserves that chance.

You can be the reason a child stops just coping and starts truly living. Give towards a prosthetic limb today.

Kindly check the donation link in our bio.

School. Play. Independence. Things every child deserves, but for a child without a prosthetic limb, these can feel out of reach.
Prosthetics don’t just restore movement. They restore possibility.

And right now, thousands of children in Nigeria are waiting for that chance.

You can make a difference. Support The IREDE Foundation today.
