Pelumi is a natural people person. She heads Operations, Administration & HR at an NGO in Lagos and loves building systems and relationships that help people thrive.

She’s passionate about raising leaders, working with volunteers, recruiting, counselling and simply getting to know people across different ages and stages of life.

And she’s happily married to Emmanuel, with two children who, as she says, test her patience daily. 😂

So yes, she brings professional experience — but also the very real, everyday experience of being in relationships and figuring them out.

This story reminds us of why that matters.

One of the simplest signs of emotional intelligence is resisting the urge to write people off after one moment.

Emotionally intelligent people don’t rush to judge.

They pause.
They get curious.
They ask:

“What might I not know?”

That one question can save friendships, strengthen families, and transform the way we lead.
