Today marks my birthday, and I choose to observe it in reflection rather than celebration. On May 15, 2026, pupils and teachers were abducted from Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, Community Grammar School, and L.A Primary School, Esiele in Oriire LGA, Oyo State. Twenty-seven days later, they remain in captivity.

The weight of their situation makes personal celebration inappropriate at this time.

I join my voice with countless others in praying for the safe and swift return of these children and their teachers to their families.

May God shield them from harm, strengthen their hearts, and reunite them with their loved ones unharmed and whole.

Their safe return is the only gift worth celebrating right now.
