President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, replacing Is-haq Oloyede whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.

Aina, who is 39 years old and will turn 40 in July, is a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University. He is regarded as one of Nigeria’s youngest professors in Computer Engineering and will become the youngest registrar in JAMB’s history.

According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Aina has extensive experience in digital infrastructure, examination systems, and public-sector reforms.

BREAKING NEWS

A new chapter has begun in the leadership of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Ikorodu West Area Council, as Mustafa Oladiran officially emerged as the new Amir of the Council.

The emergence followed the successful conduct of the Electoral Conference held on Friday, 16th May 2026, at the Ikorodu West Local Government Secretariat, amidst the presence of stakeholders, delegates, executives, coordinators, and members of the Society across the Area Council.

After due deliberations and the electoral process, the following cabinet members were also announced to serve alongside the newly elected Amir:

The conference also featured a lecture delivered by Dr. Abdulrasheed Adebayo, who charged members and leaders to prioritize impact beyond positions and titles. During his lecture, he emphasized the “Beyond Tenure” legacy of the immediate past Amir, Amir Shu’aib AbdulKareem, highlighting the importance of sustainable leadership, mentorship, sacrifice, institutional growth, and leaving behind structures that continue to benefit the Society even after one’s administration has ended.

He noted that true leadership is not measured only by years in office, but by the lasting value, unity, development, and inspiration a leader leaves behind for future generations.

Members present appreciated the lecture and described it as timely, reflective, and motivating for both outgoing and incoming executives.
The conference marked another significant moment in the history of MSSN Ikorodu West, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to continuity, consultation, accountability, and responsible leadership.
