Final Picture of the day Alert!🥳

Tafawa Balewa Square, formerly the Lagos Race Course, was originally a sports field for horse racing, football, and cricket, established on land provided by Oba Dosunmu in 1859. It hosted events like Empire Day parades and had a horse racing track of about a mile. The site was redeveloped by Yakubu Gowon's government to create Tafawa Balewa Square, marking Nigeria's independence in 1960 and the lowering of the Union Jack.

The Third Mainland Bridge is the longest of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the others are the Eko and Carter bridges. It was the longest bridge in Africa until 1996 when the 6th October Bridge located in Cairo was completed. The bridge starts from Oworonshoki which is linked to the Apapa-Oshodi expressway and Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and ends at the Adeniji Adele Interchange on Lagos Island.

Picture of the day Alert!🥳

The Lagos Old Secretariat is one of the earliest examples of Nigerian colonial public architecture. Spanning approximately two acres in Marina, Lagos, this building, now over a century old, was originally constructed to serve as the administrative headquarters for the British colonial government in the Southern Protectorate of Nigeria. Known at the time as the Central Secretary’s Office, it was designed and built by the Public Works Department (PWD), the agency behind many of Nigeria's colonial-era administrative buildings.
