Young Muslims, particularly teenagers feel that because their religion is not that of the majority of their peers, they are often viewed with suspicion if seen to be empathetically conscious about their Deen, not to mention practicing. The situation is exacerbated when the Muslim identity is apparent through the hijab or their name. Thus, the importance of developing programs that helps Muslim tee
nagers understand the Deen of Islam, its values and principles and how it affects their contribution to the larger society is of crucial need to the overall development and coping-skills for today’s leaders. We do not train teens to just be aware of their Deen, we engage them in using their skills, talents and their awareness of the Deen, to improve the society they live in. We are passionate in our belief that educated, articulate, and engaged young people possess the power to solve the world’s toughest problems including religious stereotyping.
