On August 6, 2026; it was more than just another business event but a value-packed, highly practical experience learning and sharing for entrepreneurs at the FATE Foundation Oyo Physical Business Advisory Session.

Themed: The Entrepreneur's Playbook: Winning Customers, Building Profits, and Scaling Sustainably.

It was a great opportunity to gain actionable insights from experienced business leaders, connect with young entrepreneurs, and access practical strategies that could help grow businesses, attract more customers, improve profitability, and position businesses for sustainable growth.

Data (or information) gathered from indigenous people are significant and valuable; and very relevant for informed decision. One must not mistake illiteracy with indigenous knowledge, as one stands the chance to access sustainable solutions from indigenous indicators to avert environmental hazards and to project the Climate. The Two-Day Workshop, "Harnessing Indigenous Environmental Knowledge and Machine Learning for Flood Forcasting: Enhancing Community Based Anticipatory Action and Resilience in Nigeria", focused on Changing Rain Pattern & Flood Trends, Climate Projections & Uncertainty, as well as Indigenous Knowledge and Early Warning Systems.
The multistakeholder engagement which brought together Researchers, Government Agencies, Humanitarian Organisations and Local Communities was a big success!

When we give, we gain!🤝

Women, let us prioritise our roles in environmental conservation through abundant giving to the environment, specifically in making huge impact by:

- Reducing waste and embracing sustainable living.🌈♻️🗑
- Planting trees and supporting reforestation efforts. 🌳♻️
- Promoting eco-friendly practices in our communities. e.g. community gardens, clean-up drives, reduce plastic use.🌿♻️🗑
- Advocating for environmental policies.🔋📃
- Educating others, especially children, about conservation.📣

In summary, through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.

'World NGO Day' is a day to say, "Thank you" to the groups that attend to the needs of real people.

At CEGDEC, we emphasize that, the Environment is crucial because it affects our health, wellbeing, and future. Clean air, water, and land are essential for life, and a healthy environment supports biodiversity, climate regulation, and sustainable development. Ultimately, a protected environment means a better quality of life!🌳🌍🌞🌏🏡🏕🌈
But environmental degradation can lead to issues like pollution, climate change, and loss of biodiversity.🚧🌡🌀🔥💔

The World NGO Day theme for 2026 is all about “Restoring Dignity Through Inclusion.” It is a simple concept but a massive task. Dignity is not a luxury. It is a right. And through various World NGO Day activities, we can help restore it.
