You don’t need any special skills to join the Marine Programme; all that’s required is a willingness to learn.

Around 90% of world trade moves by sea powered by over 50,000 merchant ships and nearly 2 million seafarers worldwide.

But here’s the real headline:

Of the 1,892,720 seafarers globally, only 857,540 are officers, that’s just ~45% of the workforce. And while officer supply is projected to grow, demand is rising even faster.

With the world fleet registered across 150+ nations and vessels costing over $200M each, the industry cannot afford a shortage of qualified officers.

The message is clear:
The maritime industry needs more trained, competent, and retained officers, and the time to invest in maritime careers is now.
