Kwara Students Shine at National Kids Innovation Challenge 2025 – Igbaja Agritech Mini Emerges Among Top Three Winners.

Kwara State has once again taken center stage nationally as students from the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme distinguished themselves at the National Kids Innovation Challenge 2025, organized by The Destiny Trust.

Held on 20th September 2025 at Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the prestigious event featured ten of Nigeria’s brightest young innovation teams presenting groundbreaking solutions across agriculture, health, logistics, education, and connectivity.
Kwara State was proudly represented by two exceptional finalist teams:

★Agritech Mini Dashboard Igbaja Centre.
★VBOT Innovators (Virtual Doctor Bot) Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin.

Out of ten national finalists, the Igbaja Agritech Mini Dashboard team emerged among the top three winners, with their innovative solution designed to empower farmers through access to real-time market prices, weather forecasts, planting insights, and security alerts. Built using data from the Igbaja community, the project stood out for its local relevance, scalability, and impact on food security and was the only non-hardware project to make it into the top three.
The VBOT Innovators also earned praise for their intelligent health chatbot, which analyzes symptoms, offers recommendations, and connects patients to nearby healthcare facilities with emergency contact integration.
Kwara had nine teams enter the competition, four advanced to the pre-demo stage, and two reached the finals, underscoring the state's fast-growing reputation as a hub for youth-led innovation.
Special appreciation goes to the Igbaja People’s Forum (IPF) for sponsoring the Igbaja team’s participation and making it possible for them to shine on a national stage.
Speaking on this milestone, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovation applauded the students for their creativity and resilience:
This success is a direct reflection of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s visionary investment in digital literacy and human capital development. For the first time, students from government schools in Kwara are not just participating but winning at national innovation competitions. This is historic.
The Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme, driven by the Kwara State Government and supported by Kidstech Africa, continues to foster problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills among young learners.
The winning teams will also be spotlighted at the upcoming Kwara Coding & Digital Literacy Exhibition in October 2025, where more student innovations will be showcased to the public.

Long live IPF!
Long live Igbaja!
Long live Kwara State!
Long live Nigeria! 🇳🇬
