CRASoN AT THE COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE SUMMIT, MAIDUGURI 🌾🇳🇬

From 4th to 5th October 2026, our CEO and founder, Hon. Victor Oyegoke joined federal and state leaders, development partners, and stakeholders in Maiduguri for the Community of Practice Summit on agrifood systems transformation and the domestication of the CAADP Kampala Declaration (2026–2035).

For CRASoN, the summit was a chance to keep cooperatives at the center of the conversation on food security. Hon. Oyegoke engaged stakeholders in connecting finance, infrastructure, knowledge, and markets to cooperatives and on advancing the Renewed Hope Cooperative Reform and Revamp Program (RH-CRRP 2030).

The message from Borno was clear: policy only matters when it delivers results. That means higher yields, fewer losses, stronger farmer incomes, and better access to nutritious food.
We thank the government and people of Borno State for their warm hospitality.

“Reimagining Cooperative Education for the Future: Building Institutions, Skills and Leadership for a Transforming Cooperative Economy.”

Dear Distinguished Cooperative Educator,

Nigeria’s cooperative sector is entering a critical implementation phase under the Renewed Hope Cooperative Reform & Revamp Programme (RH-CRRP 2030). As the sector evolves, our cooperative education, curricula, research, training institutions and professional development must equally evolve to produce the knowledge, skills and leadership required for the future.

Against this background, the Cooperative Rating & Award Society of Nigeria (CRASoN), Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Food Security (FMAFS), and the Committee of Provosts, HoDs & Heads of Cooperative Training Institutions in Nigeria are jointly facilitating the maiden National Cooperative Educators’ Leadership & Development Retreat (NCELDR 2026).

This two-day national retreat will bring together Provosts/CEOs and Principals of Cooperative Colleges, Chairmen of Governing Councils, Board Chairmen/Chairmen of Education Committees, Heads of Cooperative Departments (HoDs) in Universities and Polytechnics, Heads of Cooperative Training Institutions, Senior Lecturers, Researchers and other senior academic leaders involved in Cooperative Studies and cooperative education across Nigeria.

The Retreat will focus on curriculum modernisation, digitalisation of cooperative education, research and knowledge development, institutional and faculty capacity, entrepreneurship and employability, industry–academia linkages, leadership development, professional standards, and the alignment of cooperative education with RH-CRRP 2030.

Importantly, the maiden Retreat is also expected to provide a platform to deliberate on the institutionalisation and future direction of this national body, including the emergence of its pioneer executive leadership to coordinate and drive its vision, programmes and activities going forward.

NCELDR 2026 will run simultaneously with the 3rd Mandatory National Cooperative Regulators’ Refresher Course & Retreat, creating a unique national convergence of two critical institutional pillars of cooperative-sector development — Regulation and Education.

While both programmes will maintain their separate identities and specialised sessions, selected joint engagements will bring Cooperative Educators and Regulators together to address common issues around policy implementation, curriculum relevance, professional standards, digitalisation, research, institutional capacity and the implementation of RH-CRRP 2030.

MAIDEN NATIONAL COOPERATIVE EDUCATORS’ LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT RETREAT (NCELDR 2026)

The Cooperative Rating & Award Society of Nigeria (CRASoN) invites cooperative educators, academic leaders and training professionals nationwide to participate in the maiden National Cooperative Educators’ Leadership & Development Retreat—NCELDR 2026, scheduled for 20th November 2026 in Abuja, FCT.

Under the Theme:

“Strengthening Cooperative Education. Developing Leaders. Advancing Reform,”

NCELDR 2026 will create a national platform for strengthening cooperative education, improving institutional leadership, promoting professional development and aligning curricula and training programmes with the implementation priorities of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Reform & Revamp Programme (RH-CRRP 2030).
