We preach Favor... Read this little sermon
What Does it Mean to be Highly Favored? I recently read someone’s response to favor – they weren’t real happy with the idea, because to them it meant that God “plays favorites”. While, favor doesn’t really emcompass fairness, I do believe that some people receive more favor in one area while others are favored in another. But all in all, God loves each an

d everyone of us. He gives us unmerited, unearned favor – despite what we’ve done, despite our imperfections, He still chooses ‘to look kindly upon’ us. But what exactly is favor? According to the OED, favor means:

‘to look kindly upon’
‘to be inclined to have a liking or preference for’
‘to approve’
‘to encourage’
‘to treat with partiality’
‘to aid, support’
‘to ease, save, spare’
‘to resemble in face or features; have the look of’

I’m particularly drawn to the third definition, “to approve.” In other words, if you are favored, you are also approved; you are living by the standards He has set for us. Those standards were summed up in the commands to love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-40) It doesn’t mean you are perfect, but at least working and striving. All of the above OED definitions clearly are markers of what it means to be a true Christian. If you have been saved (‘to spare, to ease, to save’), you are Highly Favored. It doesn’t mean one Christian is better or more favored than another. If you are a true Christian, you are Highly Favored. If you are favored you will also “resemble in face or features” of Jesus. Others should be able to recognize your Christian attributes, or your Christlikeness. The Similtudes (Matthew 5:13-16) provide a good picture of what it means to demonstrate “similar” qualities. Your light should shine so brightly that unbelievers will be inspired to inquire. They’ll know from the way you treat them with continual love and kindness, that there’s something special about you.

Adam and Eve
Unfortunately, that relationship was broken. Not by God, but by Adam and Eve, who chose to sever that relationship through rejecting God’s leadership and guidance (read more about their decision in “The Tree of Life”). The Bible calls man’s deviation from God’s leadership sin. Sin is breaking the law that God gave humans to guide them in how to live (1 John 3:4). Sin separated humans from God.
Patriarchs and Israel
God did not give up on developing a relationship with humanity. A few people, including Abel, Enoch and Noah, sought to walk with God and found grace in His sight (Hebrews 11:4-7; Genesis 5:22; 6:8). These individuals, culminating in Abraham, make up the Patriarchal Period when God worked with specific individuals (Genesis 5-12). Abraham was faithful to God (Genesis 12:4; 22:1-16) and was chosen to be the father of a nation that God would specifically work with—eventually that nation would be called Israel (Genesis 32:28). Israel was tasked with being an example nation of the blessings and benefits of obedience to the true God (Deuteronomy 4:6-8).
Israel later split into two nations: the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Unfortunately, they failed to be the example God sought, and they severed their relationship with God through their rebellion and disobedience to His laws (Isaiah 1:2-4; Jeremiah 5:23-25). Like Adam and Eve, Israel and Judah decided to eat of the wrong tree, choosing to determine their own values for society and reject the law of God as their guide. This disconnected Israel and Judah from being able to have the relationship that God desired.

Jeremiah 33:3 . Call unto me, and I will answer thee — An expression manifesting God’s favour and loving kindness; that he was ready to comply with the first intimations of his servant’s desires. Compare
Jeremiah 29:12 . God, by thus directing his discourse to Jeremiah, not only signified his kindness toward him, but likewise the affection he still bore to his people, for, whom this prophet so earnestly interceded, and whose welfare he had so much at heart. And show thee great and mighty things — That is, give thee a clear and full prospect of them. Hebrew, תולדג תורצבו , great and abstruse, or, hidden things, as some render the words; which thou knowest not — And canst not know without further revelation, meaning, probably, not only what related to the return of the Jews from the Babylonish captivity, but likewise the blessings to be conferred upon them in the times of the Messiah.

Prayer for Blessing
Dear God,
Thank you for your great love and blessing over our lives. Thank you that your favor has no end, but it lasts for our entire lifetime. Forgive us for sometimes forgetting that you are intimately acquainted with all of our ways, that you know what concerns us, and you cover us as with a shield. We ask that we would walk in your blessing and goodness today. That your face would shine on us. That you would open the right doors for our lives and for our loved ones, that you would close the wrong doors and protect us from those we need to walk away from. Establish the work of our hands and bring to fulfillment all that you have given us to do in these days. We pray that you would make our way purposeful and our footsteps firm out of your goodness and love. Give us a heart of wisdom to hear your voice, and make us strong by your huge favor and grace.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
We are children of the King. He is Sovereign and He reigns Supreme, giving favor, guidance, and blessings to all those who seek after Him.
Resting there today, hope you are too.

THE MISSING DIMENSIONS

The Church
The missing dimension in the lives of Adam and Eve and the descendants of Israel was God’s Spirit. They did not have the Holy Spirit of God in them. Mankind needs the Holy Spirit—God’s spirit of power and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)—to choose the right way of life and have a true relationship with our Creator (Jeremiah 31:31-33).
In order to do this, God paused His relationship with the nation of Israel (Romans 11:7-26) to work with a different group of people—the Church of God (Matthew 16:18), also called the “Israel of God” (Galatians 6:16). This is how God is working now to build a relationship with human beings! He is calling specific individuals and families into a very special relationship with Him (John 6:44; Acts 2:39). The people that make up this Church are called Christians.
God is working with this special group of people to develop a strong and lasting relationship with them. James 4:8 summarizes this great purpose: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
Do you want to have a relationship with your Creator and be a part of this great theme of the Bible? Do you want to “draw near to God” so that “He will draw near to you”? The second half of James 4:8 reveals the next step you must take: “Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
The Bible also calls this repentance. In order to develop a relationship with our Creator, we must repent of our sins

Clipse from the book of Ruth.

Human productivity is an outgrowth of our faithfulness to God
God’s faithfulness to Israel was mirrored in Ruth’s faithfulness to Naomi. Ruth had promised, “Where you go I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God” (Ruth 1:16). Ruth’s promise was not a plea to stay on as a passive consumer in what remained of Elimelech’s household, but a commitment to provide her mother-in-law as much as she was able. Although not an Israelite herself, she seems to have been living according to the Law of Israel, as embodied in the 5 Commandment, “Honor your mother and father.” The restoration of productive work for her and her family began with her commitment to working in faithfulness to God’s law.
God creates (Genesis 1:1); builds (2 Samuel 7:27; 1 Sam. 2:35), makes (Genesis 2:4), forms (Genesis 2:7, 8, and fashions “ works of his hands” (Psalms 8:6). He is depicted as a creator (Genesis 1–2; Job 10:3–12; Psalms 139:13–16), builder, architect (Proverbs 8:27–31), musician/composer (Deuteronomy 31:19), metalworker (Isaiah. 1:24–26), tailor (Job 29:14; Isaiah 40:22), potter (Isaiah 31:9), farmer (Hosea 10:11), shepherd (Psalm 23; Ezekiel 34), tentmaker/camper (Job 9:8), temple designer and builder (Exodus 25, 35; 1 Chronicles 28:11–19), and scribe/writer (Exodus 24:12; 31:18; 34:34:28; etc.).
Ruth 1:8–9; 2:4a; 2:4b; 2:12; 2:19 [without naming the Lord]; 2:20; 3:10; 4:11–12; 4:14a; 4:14b–15.

Angelology and the Tree of Life
The Tree of Life represents all that is in alignment with living. It’s a symbol and a reality that serves to remind us of the importance of everything and how it all works together to serve the betterment of the whole. Imagine a tree taking root in your own backyard. As it is fed with the rain of heaven, the warmth of the sun, the nutrients in the soil and the cycle of shedding the old and bearing the new, we can see God at work. The Tree of Life not only signifies the mechanics of God but also the compassion. It provides shade and protection. It bears fruit that will nourish us and in many cases offers its whole being.
The Tree of Life touches every global community and penetrates every religion known to mankind. It has a physiological blueprint that parallels the universe’s design and all that has been manifested here on Earth. You will find the universal Law of Seven in every facet of its existence. Like the Seven Chakras, the Seven Archangels, and the Seven Octaves, The Tree of Life has seven branches that represent a union of all that is; supported by the trunk. This represents our strength and diversity in acknowledging the many different aspects of ourselves. The branches are seen as male and female. The lowest or first branch symbolises our Body Self; our sense of wellness. The second is an expression of our Personality; its vitality determines how well we are received and perceived by others. The third branch represents our relationship with the divine and how easily we are able to connect. The fourth branch signifies our thirst for Knowledge. The fifth branch is called the Void. Its health facilitates an understanding of the collective consciousness of oneness. The sixth branch represents our Truth; the Essence of who we are; the 'I Am'. The seventh and final branch, like the crown chakra is the primary portal or connection to the divine allowing one to explore that which is not attached or of the physical body.

A. God answers prayer, but we must learn how to truly communicate with Him.
A. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. Everyone who asks will receive, those who seek will find, and the door will be opened to whoever knocks (Matthew 7:7, 8).
a. This is God’s will. When we seek, we are supposed to find, and when we knock, the door is supposed to be opened. When this does not happen, the problem is not with Him.
B. When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. They love to pray in public, so they may be seen by others. They already have their reward (Matthew 6:5).
a. Even hypocrites love to pray. They want to be seen.
b. True prayer is two-way communication with God. For prayer to be effective, He needs to speak back to us.
C. God is always talking, but we will not hear Him unless we tune in and screen out external static.
a. Feelings are the voice of our body, and they communicate to us if something is pleasant or painful. We are spirit beings that possess a soul—which is our mind, our will, and our emotions. Intellect is the voice of our soul, and it gives a voice to our mind, will, and emotions. Our conscience is the voice of our spirit, and it is impacted by what we see, hear, and say.
b. What we spend the greatest amount of time doing is what shapes our conscious thinking. This is why we must think of pure, good things (Philippians 4:8).
c. God wants to speak to us through our conscience, but if our conscience is cluttered with the things of the world, this “junk” keeps us from hearing Him.
B. God always communicates clearly and distinctively. He wants genuine conversations.
A. There are ways we can discern if the message we receive is from God or not.
a. If it is really from Him, it will go against all worldly reasoning and rationalization.
b. What we hear requires faith.
c. The message we get requires courage.
d. It lines up with His written Word.
e. It brings us peace.

The Prayer of Jabez - 5 Inspiring Lessons

Scripture has many examples of prayers that teach us to depend on God and call upon Him. The prayer of Jabez is very inspiring and challenging for how we approach God with our requests. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that “ ALL Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Jabez was not using prayer as a formula to get something from God, rather He was calling upon God to help him accomplish the promises of God! Let’s dive in and see how this Old Testament prayer can be applied today as we seek God’s provision and leading in our lives.
The Prayer of Jabez , 1 Chronicles 4:10 :
“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”
Five Lessons Jabez Teaches Us When Asking of God
1. The very first thing Scripture tells us about Jabez is that he cried to the God of Israel. Jabez states God’s lordship and headship over his life. When you pray, begin by acknowledging who God is!
2. “That you would bless me” Jabez not only recognizes God as the one and only true God, he also acknowledges that blessings come from God alone. Are you chasing broken promises and blessings that the world tries to entice you with? Are you striving toward prosperity on your own strength? When you pray, do it with a heart fully invested in the blessings of God.
3. “that you would multiply my territory” – Many think that Jabez is simply referring to physical land when asking to multiply territory. However, if we look at the lineage of Jabez we can understand that he is not merely speaking in terms of wealth and prosperity but in terms of impacting the kingdom of God. He wanted his spiritual territory to increase, to claim generations for the Lord of Israel. Do you need to claim
